After a few days of grey cloud filled skies, thunder and lightning, a tonne of rain and some floods . . . I am so very grateful to wake up to clear blue skies and beautiful sunshine today. Ahhh Dubai you are gorgeous skies
Most “healthy snack bars” are just processed sugar with a health halo.
So I’ve made my own
Dates
Peanut butter
Pumpkin seeds
Flax seeds
99% dark chocolate
Coconut oil
Maldon sea salt
No syrups
No fillers
No 20 ingredient label
Just real food
But I’m curious . . .
Do you think homemade snacks like this are actually healthier . . .
Or are protein bars still the better option ?

You can of course add garlic, salt and/or lemon if you’d like.
I use pumpkin seeds because of their magnesium, zinc, iron and healthy fats.
Put it on crackers or sandwiches.
Beautiful beautiful sky over Dubai tonight

Right now . . . More than ever - I’ve needed this.
The rhythmic, predictable “whoosh” acts as natural white noise, masking startling sounds and signaling safety to the brain.
The consistent rise and fall of waves often mimics a slow, rhythmic pattern (roughly 12–20 cycles per minute), similar to calm human breathing or heartbeat, encouraging our bodies to sync with this relaxed tempo.
Unlike modern technology, which triggers arousal-related networks, nature sounds provide “soft fascination”—they are engaging enough to hold attention but predictable enough to allow the mind to rest. This promotes alpha brain waves, which are associated with a relaxed, meditative state.
Research suggests that natural, rhythmic water sounds tell the “old brain” (brainstem/limbic system) that the environment is safe, turning off the fight-or-flight response.
The ocean soundscape is a consistent, non-intrusive sound that masks harsh, sudden noises that increase stress.
Listening to these sounds can trigger the release of “feel-good” neurochemicals like dopamine and oxytocin.
If you can’t get to the beach just close your eyes and feel your body relax while listening.
We went to the beach three mornings in a row, we all felt so much calmer. My daughter filmed this for me to share with you all and it fills my heart that she wants to share how easy grounding is with you all

Heading to the beach is such an easy way to get grounded and the sounds of the ocean just calms the nervous system - just what we all needed.
If you can’t get outside right now, have you tried a grounding bedsheet or grounding mat for under your desk at work - get the benefits of the earth while you sleep and work until you can find the time to get outdoors.
Comment BEACH and I’ll send you my favourite grounding products and my exclusive discount link too 💚
