We talk a lot about ageingā¦but rarely about whatās driving it.
One of those drivers is oxidative stress.
Every day, free radicals are created through normal metabolism, but also things like stress, poor sleep, UV exposure, smoking and pollution.
Antioxidants are part of your bodyās defence system. They help neutralise this damage and protect your cells.
What I find fascinating is that research looking at biological age (how old your body appears at a cellular level) found that people with higher antioxidant levels tended to show more favourable ageing markers across multiple body systems.
Now this doesnāt mean antioxidants stop ageing.
But it does suggest that understanding your antioxidant status may give useful insight into how well your body is coping with everyday stress and supporting healthy ageing.

Iāve lost track of how many times Iāve been told I donāt look like a GPā¦people visualise someone middle-aged, usually maleā¦but where does that image come from?
Doctors are often expected to look a certain way. Serious. Practical. Entirely devoted to everyone else. Almost as if caring about your own appearance somehow makes you less credible.
But doctors are still people!
Some wear trainers. Some wear heels. Some lift weights. Some run marathons. Some love fashion. Some barely think about clothes at all.
None of those things determine whether someone is knowledgeable, safe, compassionate or good at their job.
Iāve been a doctor for 12 years. I also happen to care about health, training, aesthetics and feeling good in myself.
Those things arenāt in conflict with being a doctor. If anything, theyāre part of why Iām passionate about prevention, longevity and helping people feel their best.
Maybe we need to update the image of what a doctor āshouldā look like.
Because competence doesnāt have a uniform š
What do you thinkā¦do we still stereotype doctors?

Nervous of needles?
Not quite ready for polynucleotides, or simply canāt justify the downtime right now?
These results were all achieved at home using the LumiSpa Accent Eye alongside IdealEyes cream to target puffiness, tired-looking eyes, and the appearance of fine lines.
Itās quick (30 seconds per eye, twice daily), easy to fit into a busy routine, and gives a noticeable refresh to the eye area without injections or recovery time.
Of course, in-clinic treatments can often achieve more dramatic results, but not everyone wants needles, downtime, or the associated cost.
Sometimes consistency with the right homecare can make a bigger difference than people realise.
The eye area is often one of the first places to show fatigue and ageing, so itās worth giving it some attention.

Not all SPFs are created equally⦠and thatās why I love Synergy 6 SPF50.
What makes it different is the combination of advanced, photostable UV filters with antioxidant and skin supporting ingredients in one formula. It provides broad spectrum UVA + UVB protection, while also helping defend against infrared damage, blue light and environmental pollution, all of which contribute to premature skin ageing and collagen breakdown.
Itās lightweight, lightly tinted on the skin, and supports the skin barrier rather than feeling heavy or greasy like many traditional SPFs.
As an aesthetics doctor, I always say thereās little point investing in treatments if youāre not protecting your skin daily. Prevention will always outperform correction long term.

I started using the products long before I ever partnered with the brand.
At first, it was simply because I liked the results myself.
Then I started seeing the results my clients were getting too, not just with their skin, but with consistency, confidence and overall wellbeing.
Thatās what made me look deeper.
The science.
The technology.
The patents.
The research.
And the philosophy behind it all.
As a GP and aesthetics doctor, Iām naturally sceptical. I donāt align myself with things lightly. But the more I learnt, the more it aligned with how I already viewed health, ageing and prevention.
What started as using a few products personally gradually became part of my clinics, my lifestyle and now my wider approach to longevity and proactive health.
Perception isnāt always reality.
Sometimes itās worth taking a second look.

All of these pictures were taken this week. None of them would suggest I felt close to burnout.
They were taken because I felt like I should be posting something on social media⦠but in reality, I had absolutely no idea what to say.
The reality of running your own business is that even when youāre exhausted, things donāt stop. Thereās no off switch.
I cancelled my GP shifts for two weeks running.
I did one training session at the gym instead of my usual 4 or 5.
Butā¦I still completed my annual GP appraisal.
I still saw 46 clients.
And I still smiled through it all.
You can love what you do, feel grateful for the life youāve built, and still feel completely exhausted sometimes. Iām off to somewhere with no phone signal for the weekend š«¶š½
