South Africa is bracing itself for yet another day of mass protest action by March and March today. The movement had previously set September 30th as a nationwide day of mass action and protest targeting illegal immigration, crime, and gender-based violence.

Following an earlier mobilization on June 30 , the anti-immigration group set date as an unofficial deadline demanding that undocumented foreign nationals leave South Africa, under the theme "It's time to fetch your people. Dr Dale T McKinley co-founder of Kopanang Africa Against Xenophobia says the deadline must be disregarded.

South Africans are taking to the streets as March and March calls for a national day of action focused on the enforcement of immigration laws and accountability in the management of public services.

The organisers are calling for greater attention to the pressures facing jobs, healthcare, housing and other public services, while urging government—and SADC governments—to take responsibility for their citizens who are residing in South Africa without the required documentation.

The action is intended to be peaceful, lawful and visible.

For those unable to participate in person, the organisers have also called for support for the teams coordinating transport, sound, water, marshals and legal observers. Anyone considering making a financial contribution should use only the official channels published by the organisation, ask reasonable questions about transparency, and request appropriate accountability for how funds are used.

This is a call for lawful enforcement, responsible governance and accountability.

Recent violent attacks involving AK-47s and other illegal fi****ms have renewed concerns about how military-grade weapons are entering South Africa and reaching organised criminal networks. Authorities must establish where these weapons originate, who is supplying them, and whether corruption or cross-border trafficking is facilitating their movement.

Comparisons with conflicts in the Democratic Republic of the Congo and the Israeli-Palestinian conflict highlight a broader concern: when armed groups, political grievances, regional interests, and uncontrolled weapons flows intersect, instability can become increasingly difficult to contain. However, each conflict has its own distinct history and circumstances and should not be treated as identical.

The priority should be stronger border controls, effective intelligence, accountability, and decisive action against illegal arms trafficking, while protecting the rights and security of all communities.
