If you have COVID-19, you can be infectious in the 2 days before your symptoms start and for up to 10 days after.

You are the most infectious in the first 5 days after your symptoms start.

Some people may be infectious for longer, including those who are immune compromised, on immunosuppressive medications, or have severe and/or ongoing symptoms.

There are important things you can do if you test positive to protect people around you:
▪️ Stay at home until you are well (usually 5 to 7 days)
▪️ Wear a mask if you have to leave home
▪️ Don’t visit hospital, aged care or disability care facilities for at least 7 days
▪️ Avoid large gatherings and crowded indoor places
▪️ Speak to your employer or education setting about when to return to work
