Good morning everyone. As restrictions lift further in SA, I thought it appropriate to revisit the protocols in place at Nail Candy. As always, if you are unwell (even slightly) please reschedule your appointment.
*As per the legal obligation within the COVID Safe plan that all businesses have to abide by when they reopen, clients are required to provide their name and either contact number or email address. Pls note this is a legal requirement.
*Secondly, if you are having a nail service, you will be asked to thoroughly wash your hands. I will be retaining this ongoing as from a hygiene point of view, it just makes sense. :-) Hand sanitiser is available for clients having other services.
*Lastly, please do not place food, drinks or mobile phones on the nail table.

As lockdown starts to ease..... you decide for you, I'll decide for me. None of us have the same circumstances (medically high risk family members/ family member or a business about to go under, etc.) Let's all stay in our own lanes and keep the judgement down as we begin to unlock. No one should feel pressured either way.
Just a thought... As the MP's are trying to figure out how to ease back into normal, please remember:

🏡 Some people are still planning to stay home.... that’s ok. Be kind.
🤢 Some are still scared of getting the virus and a second wave happening.... that’s ok. Be kind.

📝 Some will be able to attend interviews after weeks without a job....that’s ok. Be kind.
😷 Some will wear masks for weeks.... that’s ok. Be kind.
💅🏻 Some people will rush out to get their hair or nails done.... that’s ok. Be kind.
❤️ The point is, everyone has different viewpoints/feelings and that’s ok. Be kind.

*Please reschedule your appointment if you are unwell (this includes the sniffles, throat tickles... you get the idea) or have returned from overseas, QLD, NSW or VIC in the last 14 days. If I suspect you may be unwell I reserve the right to refuse entry & move your appointment to another time.
*All clients are required to register their name and contact number/ email address. This is an obligation of reopening as per the SA Health COVID plan beauty businesses are required to follow. This information will be retained for a minimum of 28 days.
*All clients will be required to thoroughly wash their hands upon arrival.
*No mobile phones, iPads, food, drinks, purses or handbags to be placed on the nail table or waxing bed. There is a designated space for handbags and pther personal items.
*Clients are not able to bring guests or children with them to their appointment.

Hi all. Well I've spent the last 3+ hours messaging people and sorting bookings. PLEASE don't worry if you haven't heard from me as yet. I am, as I stated in an earlier post, contacting people in the order they messaged me. My brain is just a little bit fried. I will contact more people tomorrow.
Whilst I have started booking people in from w/c June 8th, there is always the possibility the Govt. may shift this date. My plan is to basically pick up and move the bookings to any new date announced should that happen. However, if in the unfortunate event this DOES happen, I will certainly touch base with everyone to double check this still works for you.

Hi Everyone. Don't get excited... we are not open just yet. However I thought I'd give you a bit of an update.
WHEN I can re-open, I am keeping a few of the practices I had in place just before I had to shut up shop. This is for the benefit of all of us.
From now on all clients will be required to thoroughly wash their hands upon arrival.
Also, mobile phones, food and drinks will no longer be allowed on the nail table under any circumstances. If you are expecting an urgent call, you can place your mobile on a nearby surface BUT if you use the phone you will need to re-sanitise you hands before the service recommences.
As always, if you have ANY SIGN OF ILLNESS, even a scratchy throat or a sniffle.... irrespective if you think it's hayfever or you're not contagious... you MUST re-schedule.
This is NOT NEGOTIABLE under any circumstances. I hope you understand.
Hopefully I'll be contacting you soon to arrange an appointment.

[04/30/20] The Northern Territory will open Nail Salons on May 15th. Hopefully it wont be too long before we hear about South Australia lifting restrictions. Fingers crossed :-D
A huge thank you to everyone who has messaged me to go on the contact list for when I am able to re-open. PRE-BOOKED appointments remain valid and if you already have appointments booked you will be contacted first to confirm that time. For everyone else, I will be contacting clients in the order in which I was messaged.
I realize that everyone is going to be after an appointment during the first week back but please realize that is just not going to be possible. There are only so many hours (esp. weeknights and Saturday) in the day.
Also, for your first appointment, I will be offering simple services only - i.e. to enable me to see as many clients as possible I will not be able to do any fancy art. That will have to wait for your next visit :-).
I will be offering 1 service only - i.e. fingers OR toes only for the first few weeks back. This may mean that you will get your fingernails done week one and toes does the following week (short waxing services are fine to have at the same, initial appointment)

For ACRYLIC, APRES GEL-X & SNS REMOVAL ONLY.
For gel polish removal - DO NOT file down to the natural nail. Just file off the glossy top coat and a LITTLE bit of the colour. Then proceed as shown. Gel polish usually soaks off in 15-20 mins. :-)
Hi all. Well it’s been 11 days since my backside last sat at the nail table.
I’ve been cleaning cupboards and washing down doors, door frames and skirting boards.
I’ve just started watching Jane the Virgin on Netflix and the furkids are getting plenty of walks.
Plus reading, cooking (the sweet potato and red lentil curry is in the slow cooker!!) and jigsawing!
So tell me... what have you been up to?
Hi all. Just checking in to see how you are. The hairy staff and I are fine. Cupboards are getting tidier and the paperwork is nearly up to date - who knew that was even possible?!

Hey Mum... where are all our friends? It’s a bit lonely around here...
For the clients who have collected their removal kits, here is a Youtube video on how to remove gel polish. If your polish proves to be a bit stubborn, maybe you will need to file a little more of the gel polish off (DO NOT FILE INTO YOUR NATURAL NAIL) and just persevere with soaking. IF you are still struggling, pls message me and I will trouble shoot with you.
Soaking off Apres Gel-x and acrylic nails is much the same but you will need to file off the bulk of the enhancement prior to soaking and the soaking time, esp with acrylic nails, will be slightly longer. Again, any problems, pls message me.
AND finally, pls use cuticle oil after removal as acetone will dehydrate your nails and skin.

The remover kits are ready for collection. PLEASE bring a SMALL GLASS CONTAINER with a SECURE lid for the removal liquid.
You will also need alfoil aside from the kit I’m providing. You can pop in from now until 9pm this evening OR TOMORROW between 10:45 - 1:30pm and after 4:15pm.
Free to regular Nail Candy clients. I only have 100 so first in, best dressed. One kit per client at this stage.
