Introducing ELEVATE — a new professional education and mentoring space for qualified beauty therapists who want to refine their skills, deepen their knowledge and build confidence in the treatment room.

Because I’ve been there.

Stepping out of training and into the real treatment room can feel very different. You can have your qualification, but there is still so much to learn when working with real clients — especially when you encounter situations you may not have experienced in the classroom.

Over the years, I’ve met and trained many colleagues who have shared that they would have loved more time to practise, ask questions and build their confidence before stepping into the treatment room.

That’s where ELEVATE comes in.

A skin cancer story — and an important reminder.

I see so many skins in my treatment room, and I hear so many stories. This one really stayed with me.

Eight years ago, my client had a spot biopsied. Thankfully, it was not cancerous.

Recently, she visited her doctor to have a different spot checked. While she was there, her doctor noticed that older spot and said:

“I’m more concerned about this one.”

A biopsy revealed an early squamous cell carcinoma (SCC).

Luckily, it was caught early.

She wasn’t concerned about this particular spot — her doctor noticed the change.

It’s a great reminder that even a spot that has been checked before can change over time.

Know your skin. Notice changes. And if something looks different or doesn’t feel right, best to get it checked.

Sometimes, it’s the spot you least expect!

This is your little reminder to keep up with your professional skin checks.

Hi, I’m Nikki, and beauty has been a huge part of my life for the past 30 years.

I’m a Diploma-qualified Beauty Therapist and Trainer & Assessor, and over the years I’ve had the privilege of teaching beauty therapy in Sydney and Hobart across private and government training institutions, as well as training and supporting other therapists along the way.

But at the heart of it all, I’ve always loved being a therapist.

I love treating skin, seeing the changes that can happen with a holistic approach, and creating a treatment experience where someone can walk through my studio doors and simply exhale.

That’s what led me to create Skin & Wellness Haven — a beautiful space where I can bring together everything I love about skin, wellness and creating meaningful experiences for my clients.

And now, something new is beginning…

I’m opening the door to mentoring beauty therapists, sharing the knowledge and practical skills I’ve gathered over three decades in this industry. I’ve experienced the value of guidance, support and sharing knowledge throughout my own career, and I know how much it can mean to have someone in your corner as you grow.

It’s such a privilege to support fellow therapists, help them build confidence in their skills and watch them grow, and I’m really excited to bring this part of myself back into my work.

Whether you’ve been here since the beginning or you’re new here, thank you for being part of Skin & Wellness Haven.

I can’t wait to launch this exciting next chapter — bringing together my two loves: being a therapist for my clients and helping fellow therapists grow, build confidence and elevate their skills.
