We have noticed a few cases of shingles instore in the past two weeks and want you to be aware of the prevention, symptoms, and our prescribing pharmacist treatments.

📌 Did you know that:

❗️Shingles often presents as a burning, tingling, or sore sensation on one side of the body that can progress to a painful blistering rash

❗️ If you’ve ever had chickenpox, it can reactivate even decades later and develop into shingles. Whilst the chance of developing shingles increases with age, anyone who has had chicken pox is at risk!

❗️Early action is crucial to prevent potentially debilitating complications and nerve pain that can sometimes last for months to years.

❗️Prevention is your best defence 🤺 There is a vaccine available to prevent shingles, and you may qualify to have it for free! Simply walk-in and get your vaccination - no appointment needed! 💉

❗️Our prescribing pharmacist Steph is fully qualified to assess and provide appropriate medication directly if you’re experiencing these symptoms - if you or someone you love think you may have shingles, come in straight away and have a chat with Steph - antiviral medication needs to be started within 72hours ⏳️
