Majella is so full of joy and her smile is so contagious!

We’ve previously added in some highlights to brighten her up, but today we wanted to add in some extra oomph and have her hair match her personality 🥰

The extra brightness around her face highlights her amazing blue eyes and now her hair matches her personality ✨

And of course, we made sure that we worked with her natural hair placement so maintenance will be a breeze with a little toner and trim between foiling appointments.

The haircut lets Majella keep the density around the perimeter of her hair helping it feel thick and full, but the graduation at the back and the framing layers through the front enable her to get some volume and texture.

Let’s have an honest talk about going grey….

Some of us love it, some of us hate it.

Some of us have greys that blend in to our natural, some of us have greys that are coarse and frizzy.

Some of us see it as a chance to embrace the freedom and enter a new chapter of life, some of us see it as an end of a chapter and mourn the hair we’ve known all our lives.

Myself, I swing between the freedom I have from not colouring my hair anymore and mourning the lush, richly coloured hair that I’ve known all my life.

The truth is, it is the end of a chapter for me, but I’m trying to retrain my brain to accepting it’s also the beginning of a new chapter. An amazing new chapter!

So many of my clients have the same thoughts and feelings and we’ve had some very emotional conversations about the psychological process we go through as women coming to terms with going grey.

In the grand scheme of things, it doesn’t seem like our hair going grey should be something we should worry about. But with the world feeling freaking scary and things changing so fast there are some constants we rely on - and our hair is one of them.

So when our hair changes it feels like just another thing we have to try and adjust to.

And the thing is - we CAN adjust ❤️

Adjust our service, adjust our maintenance, adjust our mindset.

Because when you start to go grey, things do need to change.
Our old go-to’s aren’t going to work as well.

And that’s ok.

What you will need is someone to guide you through, give you an honest and realistic idea of the journey.
Because it’s definitely not a one size fits all.

Years of dark colour and it was finally time to try and break up the dense colour to try and make her grey regrowth a little less intense.
We used baby lights to mimic Suzi’s natural grey pattern and the result was subtle but natural, and will lower her regrowth maintenance ❤️

No Bleach Highlights 😍

I have been absolutely loving creating warm, golden hues on my clients and what makes it even better is that we can achieve this by putting the bleach away 🙌

When my gorgeous client came in wanting a low maintenance colour and definitely did not want to be blonde, AND she had virgin hair 😍 I knew the best path to forward was to ditch the bleach!

By using a high lift colour I could ensure the integrity of my clients hair and without the need of a toner she won’t have to worry about maintaining her colour 😋

Now, a no bleach highlight service won’t be suitable for everyone as there are a few factors that will determine whether it will work for them ☺️

Sometimes all you need is a razor and some no bleach highlights to create magic 🪄 🥰

My new client came in with a beautiful head of healthy virgin hair and a couple of requests - a textured bob and some subtle highlighting to frame her face and blend in a few greys that were coming through.

I was so excited to be able to achieve this look by ditching the bleach, maintaining every strands integrity and keeping it super low maintenance. No bleach means no toner maintenance and loving your hair for so much longer.

For the cut, I utilised the both the razor and scissors to create an effortless textured shape which is customised to my clients texture and lifestyle.

This partial highlight and cut service means my client was in the chair for a shorter amount of time and she won’t have to worry about regrowth or toners for at least 4-6 months 😍
