One weekend appointment left for September, Saturday the 13th.
I'm the only one here in the cottage, so the calendar fills fast, especially on weekends. This spot is open to a new set or a maintenance appointment, whatever your lokks need right now.
Tell me in the comments, are you due for a refresh or ready to start your first lokks?
Message me to claim it before it's gone.

Alison had lokks for fifteen years. In April this year, she brushed them all out.
A couple of months into loose hair and she'd had enough. She missed her lokks, and she was ready to start again.
A couple of weeks ago she came into the cottage for a full new set. We split it across two days since she only had a few hours to give at a time, working section by section until her whole head was done.
Fresh lokks always look a little wild before they settle. Sticking out, uneven, not quite sitting flat yet. That's not a mistake, that's just where the journey starts. Give them time and they'll drop, soften and settle right in.
Has anyone else brushed out and immediately regretted it? Tell me in the comments, I know Alison isn't the only one ๐ค
If you're starting your own lokk journey, or finding your way back to one, my cottage door is always open.

This little set has been finished and it's ready to find its new head. ๐
Every set like this starts the same way, a colour I can't stop thinking about, then hours of quiet, twisting and crocheting until loose fibre starts to feel like something with its own presence. This one came together with a mix of decorated and natural lokks, soft wraps and little details tucked in throughout.
๐ฎ 10 piece set
๐ค 5 single ended lokks
๐ค 5 double ended lokks
๐ Creates the look of 15 lokks once installed
๐ค Lightweight and soft
๐ค Secure loops
๐ค Handmade by me, start to finish
Perfect for extra length, texture and personality, without committing to a full head of lokks.
๐ฎ $130 for the complete set
There is only one set in this exact colour and design, so once it's gone, it's properly gone ๐ค
Which detail is calling to you the most, the beads, the wraps, or the natural pieces? Let me know in the comments, or send me a message if these are the ones for you ๐

Hey lovely humans ๐
Just a heads up that I'm feeling a bit under the weather at the moment, so I might be a little slower than usual replying to messages over the next few days.
I promise I haven't forgotten about you, just taking a bit of time to rest up and get better.
Thanks so much for your patience, love you all ๐ฅฐ๐งก

Another Rebekah in the chair ๐ค
This one's been deep into her lokk journey for a while now, but the sides are still catching up, newer growth finding its rhythm while the rest of her head is well and truly established. There's something so satisfying about tending to those baby lokks without letting the older ones slip.
We spent the session on root maintenance, closing up the new growth so everything stays tight and even, then tidied along the sides so the whole head reads as one journey instead of two different stages.
This is the bit nobody talks about enough. Lokks don't all grow and lock at the same pace, especially when you're filling in a section after the fact. Patience is the whole game.
Rebekah's sides are getting there. Slowly, surely, ritual by ritual.
Ever had a part of your hair (or your life) that just needed a little more time to catch up? Tell me below ๐ฏ๏ธ

Rick's lokks had started holding hands ๐ค A few of them had properly bonded together at the root into one thick lokk by the time he sat in my chair.
He's one of my regulars, it had just been a bit longer than usual between visits. Life happens. And when there's extra time between root maintenance, neighbouring lokks can grow into each other without you even noticing until it's a lot of lokk in one spot.
This is called congoing, and it's one of the most common things I see. It does not mean starting over. It just means someone needs to sit with your roots, patiently separate what's grown together, and bring everything back to where it should be.
That's exactly what this session was, repair work through the congoed sections plus his full root maintenance.
No judgement in this chair, ever. That's what these appointments are for ๐
How long has it been since your last ritual? ๐

Ash walked back through my studio door after almost a year away.
He'd gone to try someone else for a while, which I get completely. Sometimes you need to wander before you find your way home. But when he sat down in my chair again it felt like picking up a spell mid incantation.
Alot of his lokks had matted right up to the root. Not unusual in the first couple of years when the structure is still settling and maintenance isn't consistent, but it meant his scalp had been under tension for a long time and couldn't breathe properly.
We spent the session freeing each root slowly, undoing the damage without undoing the lokks themselves, until his scalp could finally exhale.
Confession: I was so deep in the work I nearly forgot to film the after video. You'll notice the background's different in the second half of the clip, that's me sprinting for my phone at the last second haha.
The relief on his face when he ran his fingers through his lokks again said everything.
When was your last root maintenance? Tell me below.

This isn't your average hair appointment.
Step inside my cottage studio and you'll find deep green walls, crystals, candlelight, and a space built entirely around every ritual. Every lokk session here is treated like ceremony, not just a service.
I spent years working in hair salons before dreadlocks took over completely, and now I'm a certified loctician working out of my own space, built exactly the way I dreamed it.
Because it's just me, one loctician, one chair, I only take several appointments each week. If you've been thinking about starting your lokk journey, now's the time to grab a spot before they're gone.

Emma sat down for a simple maintenance and I caught myself just staring at her partial lokks for a solid minute before I even picked up my hook.
I remember when we started this journey together, working through that awkward "not new, not settled" middle stretch that nobody warns you about. Seven months in now, and they've completely found themselves. There's a shape and a movement to them that just wasn't there before.
Honestly, the part of this job I love most isn't always the big transformations, it's sessions like Emma's. The quiet trust that builds when someone keeps coming back to the same chair. She knows how I like her to sit. I know exactly how her hair wants to move. There's a rhythm to it now.
If you're in that uncertain early stage right now, wondering if it's ever going to look "right"... this is what's waiting for you on the other side. ๐ค
How long have you been growing yours? Drop it below, I love seeing where everyone's at in the journey.
