Oh my god so gross!
This is what happens when you sleep with wet hair and I made this mistake for let’s just say 36 years🤣
- hair breakage. Your hair is in the most fragile stage when wet and sleeping on it wet causes friction leading to more breakage
- scalp irritation. Yeah ok so keeping your scalp damp creates an environment that can cause more problems. Dandruff is just one of them. It becomes a breeding ground.
- frizz. This will come around too thanks to the breakage and friction.
Simple way to avoid this? Use the appropriate products to cater for your hair and scalp needs but also dry your hair before going to bed. Even better, braid it and use a silk head wrap and pillow case.

I know what this means. Yep. You guessed it. I get a grease patch every time of the month. I literally washed my hair this morning and as I was drying it, this is what I saw. Fuming! Because I have figured out how to combat this grease when it arrives and this time I thought I had an extra wash up my sleeve.
Normally around this time I will use a vinegar rinse and shampoo. It’s levels out my grease patch and gives my hair the healthiest shine.

This is the longest and healthiest my hair has ever been, even after box dyes, daily heat styling, postpartum the third time around, and just life doing its damage.
