(07) 3356 1111 No More Knots is Australia’s largest clinic of its kind and was first formed in 1998 by former athlete and entrepreneur, Kelly Townsend. The original No More Knots started with just 4 small rooms under Kelly’s own house, and a team of just three enthusiastic therapists, keen to make a difference. The business flourished due to high quality consistent service, high demand and the ever growing team moved to a larger, purpose built building in the Southside Brisbane suburb of Greenslopes where it continued to grow. In early 2011, No More Knots opened its doors to the public in a second location in Taringa, to meet the growing demand for exceptional treatment, in the Western suburbs of Brisbane. Then in early 2017 we opened our newest clinic in Newmarket in response to years of requests from our northside clients. Between the three clinics, No More Knots is home to over 45 tertiary qualified therapists who specialise in Remedial Massage & Myotherapy and are supported by a wonderful administrative & management team of fifteen! After building the business over 14 years, Kelly moved sideways to begin the wonderful journey of building a family. In 2012, she welcomed Charlie as the first smallest member of the No More Knots team into the world. More recently, in June 2017, Kelly has now also welcomed little Alex into the pretzel family. This important transition was made possible after Kristy Donoghue became Kelly’s business partner, and General Manager of No More Knots. Kelly and Kristy have been friends since primary school, at the age of 4, so it is with this strong history of friendship, and a raw understanding of each others strengths and weaknesses that they moved the business into the next phase, with Kristy at the helm. Her background as Tour Manager for Contiki and Trafalgar for approximately 8 years, and 4 years in a management role with Nestle has meant that her communication skills and people management are second to none. Kristy has a wonderful ability to nurture and develop the skills of those around her, she places a very high regard for treating others as she would like to be treated and endeavours to encourage each member of the team at No More Knots, to be the best version of themselves that they can be. Her laugh can be heard throughout the clinic, helping to make it a pleasure to work. Today the whole team at No More Knots is privileged to treat over 700 clients each week, with a fabulous mix of office workers, tradespeople, weekend warriors to elite athletes; all sharing the common goal of receiving outstanding treatment tailored specifically to meet their individual needs. As a result, it has quickly built a reputation for outstanding service at all levels of the business, and has become the most well renowned clinic of its kind.
If your tightness keeps coming back, the sore spot might not be the real problem.
That stiff neck. That tight lower back. The shoulder that settles for a few days then flares right up again.
Most people keep treating where it hurts without finding what's driving it. Our therapists look at how your body's actually moving and treat what's contributing to the pain.
So instead of feeling good for a day or two, you leave with a real plan for getting on top of it.
You don't have to wait until you're injured to get treatment.
Most people hold off until the back locks up or a small niggle turns into something that stops them training, working or sleeping.
Remedial massage isn't only for when things are already bad. Desk all day or physical work, regular treatment keeps you ahead of the tightness. We treat the areas under load so the small stuff doesn't become the thing you can't ignore.
🥨 MYOTHERAPY: WHAT IS IT & HOW IS IT DIFFERENT FROM REMEDIAL MASSAGE?
If you’ve got persistent muscle pain, restricted movement or an injury that just isn’t settling, you may have heard of myotherapy.
So, what actually is it?
Myotherapy is a hands-on physical therapy approach that combines assessment, manual therapy and rehabilitation strategies to address muscle, myofascial, joint and movement-related problems.
🔎 What might a myotherapy treatment involve?
Your therapist may begin with a more detailed assessment of your movement, range of motion and symptoms before developing a treatment plan.
Depending on your individual needs, treatment may include:
• Trigger point therapy
• Myofascial techniques
• Remedial massage
• Joint and muscle mobilisation
• Stretching and movement techniques
• Dry needling, where appropriately trained
• Cupping
• Rehabilitation exercises and self-management advice
Research suggests that manual therapy can help improve pain and range of motion in some people with myofascial trigger points, while adding exercise rehabilitation may provide additional benefits for pain, movement and function.
🤔 So why choose myotherapy over remedial massage?
It really comes down to what you need from your appointment.
Remedial massage can be a great option when your primary goal is hands-on treatment for muscular tension, soreness or soft-tissue discomfort.
Myotherapy may be worth considering when you’re looking for a more assessment-and-rehabilitation-focused approach — particularly if you have ongoing pain, restricted movement, a recurring problem or a specific movement-related issue.
And importantly, there’s plenty of overlap between the two. A myotherapist may use remedial massage as one part of your treatment, the difference is the broader assessment and treatment approach.

Been getting headaches that won't shift for a week or two? They might be coming from your traps.
A lot of migraines are muscle strain related. The traps tighten, and it works its way up the back of the neck, into the scalp, over the temporalis. That slow build of tighter and tighter is often where the headache starts.
Come in early. Release that tension before it stacks up, and it won't take as long to recover from.

A foam roller is one of the easier ways to stretch out the time between visits.
Roll out the back, work on the areas that tighten up, keep things moving on your own.
And it travels well. Light, compact, easy to throw in a bag.
