1. Mascara - older than 3 months, it’s a breeding ground for bacteria and you’re putting it right next to your eye. I am guilty of pushing this one a little from time to time but it’s honestly not good for your eye health.
2. Lipsticks over 2 years old that smell waxy or stale - That smell means the oils have turned rancid and it’s time to let them go.
3. Any product with SPF - Check the expiry dates.
Expired SPF doesn’t actually protect you anymore, the actives break down and you’re getting a false sense of security.
4. Foundation in the wrong shade -
Yes, it’s totally fine to have a summer and a winter shade, but if you’re not wearing it on its own or mixing it with another shade to make it work, it’s just taking up space.
5. The free gifts and samples -
Completely the wrong colour for your skin tone, came with something you bought, and have been sitting there making you feel guilty that you’re not using them up? Donate them or give to a friend.
6. Those little eyeshadow sponge applicators -
they come with every palette, they’re impossible to blend with, they are disintegrating and yet somehow you still have them..
7. The cracked powder -
it’s exploding all over your kit, you’ve been meaning to learn how to fix it for months, and honestly… it’s not going to happen.
