• Makuru •

Welcome to Makuru, the Noongar season of fertility.

We are in the coldest and wettest season of the year, and most of us will be feeling the ‘down and in’ energy.

It is important to keep the internal body warm as the as the surface of the body cools down.

Warming and salty foods are perfect for this time of year as they take energy ‘down and in’ to keep our core warm.

Slow cook and roast your food and avoid raw/cold foods as this will weaken the body.

To read more about how you can support your body during Makuru, pop over to the blog on my website lovelies 🌿

Always striving to balance the work I love
with experiences that bring me joy ✨

In the busyness of life, fun, connection, and joy are often the first things to go — yet they’re the very things that keep us well.

Without them, stress builds.
Overwhelm lingers.
Burnout creeps in.

So this is your reminder —
every day, find one moment of joy.

A coffee in the sun.
A walk outside.
A laugh with someone you love.

Because you don’t burn out from doing too much…
you burn out from never truly switching off.

Share below your little moments of joy lovelies 👇🏼

✨ FIBRE MAXXING 101 ✨

Fibre is a foundational nutrient.

But my friends, most adults are eating less than half of what’s needed for:

🍉 Gut health
🥑 Blood sugar balance
🫐 Hormone metabolism
🥥 Satiety & energy

Fibre maxxing = intentionally building fibre into meals & snacks — not through extremes, but through consistency.

✨ Why it matters:

• Feeds beneficial gut bacteria
• Improves bowel regularity
• Reduces blood sugar spikes
• Supports cholesterol & metabolic health
• Helps regulate appetite hormones

What fibre maxxing actually looks like:

🥗Whole foods > powders
🍠 Variety over volume
🍐 Spread fibre across the day
🥑 Pair fibre with protein & fats
🍇 Increase gradually (your gut needs time to adapt)

💡 Aim: ~30–40g fibre/day for most adults
(Not all at once. Not overnight.)

Gut-sensitive?
Start lower, prioritise soluble fibre, hydrate well, and build slowly. Bloating is a signal, not a failure.

Consistency is key lovelies, include fibre rich foods in all your meals and you’re most of the way there!

Save this as your gut health baseline 🌿
