We have been around for a few years now but are starting fresh, with a new website and all new posts!
So, what is Fake Tan Kaftan?
We create multiple products to assist our fellow fake tan lovers in a mess, stain and transfer free tanning process. We sell:
• Sleep pockets to protect your sheets
• Big draping kaftans to wear if you tan during the day
• Head wraps to keep your hair out of the way of your gorg tan
• Toilet seat covers (our most popular product this year!)
• Linen sprays
We also have all our products made by a seamstress team in Cambodia full of women, and create employment and other opportunities for the women in our beloved team.

So our products are perfect for after a fake tan… but how do you tan in the first place!?
Fear not darling, here are our top tips for a flawless fake tan:
🧡 EXFOLIATE • for a smooth, flawless finish, we need to get rid of dry and flaky skin. Do this by using a body scrub, having a warm shower 🚿, then scrub (shaving 🪒 helps too!). Do so at least 24 hours prior to tanning to avoid dotted pores/strawberry 🍓 skin.
🤍 MOISTURISE • to avoid dryness/clingy tan, moisturise your body once out of the shower (especially areas like knees & elbows).
🤎 APPLICATION • ensure to use a mitt to apply the tan in even layers over your whole gorgeous body 💃. Use circle motions to avoid streaking!
🧡 WASHING IT OFF • wash off your tan after 4-8 hours ⏱️. Need to sleep 😴 in your tan? Our Luxurious Sleep Pocket covers your sheets AND pillow 🛌(and is the softest material EVER).
🤍 DRYING OFF • pat dry as opposed to rubbing/scrubbing.
🤎 FACE APPLICATION • try face tanning drops or mist to avoid a dark/patchy face application. Use our Head Wrap - Daphne to keep the hair 💇♀️ out of your face for this process.
🧡 KEEPING THE HOUSE CLEAN WHILE TAN IS WET • wear our Kaftans for the 4-8 hours it takes for your tan to dry and develop. It is important after tanning to wear something dark and loose - reality is, your clothes are going to get orange/tan stains on them as they are fitted to you. That’s where our Kaftan is sublime. To avoid getting your toilet 🚽 seat tan-stained, grab our toilet seat cover!

The beautiful faces behind the Fake Tan Kaftan! Marcia and Mary B! 👯♀️
It all began in Sevilla, Spain 🇪🇸 at the 1992 World Expo. Australia's contribution to this cultural event was the Kangaroo Pub where Mary and Marcia first met. Travels through Europe, a share house 🏡 in London, many adventures (we won't mention the crazy week in Corfu), boyfriends, break-ups, more boyfriends, husbands, children, more adventures, including erupting volcanoes 🌋 and earthquakes, and an idea to design a practical, ethical and stylish throw-over after the perfect tan-up.
Their paths travelled have provided the insights and opportunity to create a product that is not only practical (and stylish) but importantly, provides ethical employment for women in Cambodia 🇰🇭, using beautiful fabrics from recycled and environmentally sustainable materials.
From these beginnings we hope that the success of our FTK range will provide training and employment for our Seamstress Team for years to come.
