DESIGN - EP OUT NOW: the last ever Cordrazine release came out last Friday. The beautiful four track EP You See In Me. There will be one more Cordrazine concert, this Friday at the Northcote Social Club, and then that's it for the band.
Intended to be pressed on vinyl, the sleeve and labels were a joy to design, and something I'm really proud of, but regretfully can't share yet.
The photo of Hamish with his little girl, behind the waterfall window at the Arts Centre Melbourne, made me think of Monet. I enhanced that feeling, while getting the eye to be drawn to her face.
Interestingly, for Hamish's solo posters, I've used the top of this same photo.
Out now through Rubber Records
Produced, recorded and played on by the amazing Nick Batterham

DESIGN: it was a fun challenge merging two album covers into one. One tiny Taylor and one large. Added more colour for a few reasons. Visibility being one of those, but also to steer away from copyright issues, and to make sure fans don't think she is playing.
Thanks James, for letting me do these designs for over seven years now. It has given me such a variety of art to work with.
A3 poster, square, 4x5, story, Facebook event cover and ticketing art.

DESIGN AND MORE: it is great working with Hamish Cowan towards the release of Cordrazine's final EP, You See in Me. Regretfully, the launch will be the last ever show for the band. More on that on the Cordrazine page.
The photo of Hamish with his daughter, I used for this poster and also for the LP cover, is gorgeous, and amazing to work with. Taken through the waterfall window at the Arts Centre Melbourne, it invokes in me the feeling of seeing a modern Monet painting. And I love Monet. (If you ever have the chance, go see the Water Lilies by Claude Monet in the basement of the Musée de l'Orangerie in Paris. Mind-blowing!)
News of the vinyl EP hopefully soon from Rubber Records, but for now, get your ticket to next month's show at the Northcote Social Club.
Support by superstar Alex Lloyd, known from his huge 2001 hit Amazing.

DESIGN RESTORATION: it's been a lot of fun working on the Holocene band - Melbourne re-issue of their 1995 album Spurr. Available for the first time on vinyl, and also on CD (remastered). The original art is lost in a blown-up computer, so I had to work from a scan. Many parts had to be redrawn. On the scan, you could clearly see the fold in the thirty-year-old booklet, which carefully had to be removed. Photographer of the rock-stars, Tony Mott, luckily still had the fabulous band photo he took three decades ago. Jo Roberts wrote a super interesting blurb for the vinyl insert. Kez came by heaps to decide on the layout and the bright colours, and to sort through hundreds of photos to pick the dozens for the insert (some old, some new). The original photo used for the CD disc art (and now also the vinyl labels) is hiding in a box, so a new photo was found. Altogether it makes for fresh, bright, hi-res art.
Shout out to Robert Gowty for the original artwork!
