There are a number of imbalances we need to talk about this International Women’s Day.
One of them is healthcare.
Gender bias still affects how women’s symptoms are interpreted, investigated, and treated.
The 2024 National Women’s Health Advisory Council report shows this bias is still significant. Many women still feel dismissed, disbelieved, or unable to access the information they need to make informed decisions about their care.
This is why body literacy matters — understanding how your body works, knowing what questions to ask, what to push back on, and how to advocate for yourself (with the hope that one day we won’t have to).
That's what For The Pause is all about.
Balance healthcare.
Balance research.
Balance body literacy.
Balance the scales.

There’s a lot of mixed information out there about Peri (sooo annoying!), so this book could not come at a better time. Good science, great writing and a great human behind it, THIS is the book we all need in our lives.
So lucky to get to be at the offical launch tonight and so happy to hear so much positivity about this era of our lives.

World menopause day was yesterday, but let's keep talking about it...
I'm not a dietician or nutritionist, so I've added links to some great resources at the end of this post.
From a Mental Health & Neuroscience perspective, our diets play a huge role the health of our brains and bodies. I'm pretty sure most of us know we need to eat healthy to live and feel better, but the pace of our lives can make that hard. Nobody's perfect, but doing a little each day to eat better can make a big difference.
Remember, all these tips are just something to think about. Adopt what works for you and leave what doesn't.

Happy world menopause day!
My goal for today is to talk to at least 5 new people about menopause 💪
The day 2 tip is all about exercise. Everyone knows how good this is for us, but did you know that exercise also helps to build a cognitive reserve to protect your brain as you age? There’s almost no end to the benefits of exercise, our brains & bodies need it. If you can find 10 mins today for a walk, you’re already helping that beautiful brain of yours to stay healthy.

Happy almost International Menopause Day!
To celebrate I'm sharing the some great neuroscience and wellbeing science research, and tips and tools to help you adopt some science proven changes to make this era easier.
Day 1 is sleep. My favourite. If you don't have a sleep disorder, then you can do a lot of things to help you sleep better. It's one of the MOST important life skills to master.
Share any tips or great sleep resources in the comments so that everyone can benefit and become sleep superheroes.
