⚡ A brief BTN transmission from somewhere beyond reliable internet…
Uncle Tatt has actually been busy — out at gigs, taking photos, listening to live music and generally collecting far more content than he’s managed to get online. 🎶📸
So yes… there’s plenty more coming.
Unfortunately, BTN HQ is currently operating on NBN satellite internet, which appears to be dependent on several highly technical factors — including cloud cover, planetary alignment and whether the donkey uphill has farted recently.... 🫏💨📡
At the moment, uploading anything larger than a strongly worded text message is proving ambitious.
But the gigs have been happening.
The camera has been busy.
The stories are coming.
As soon as the donkey cooperates and the satellite gods reconnect us to civilisation…
stay tuned. ⚡🎶

YOU ARE MORE THAN WHAT SOMEONE ELSE PUTS YOU THROUGH⚡
September's final pairing takes us from one of the month's most confronting songs to probably its most unapologetically fun.
“Receipts” — CYNTA challenges the questions so often directed at someone who's been harmed — what they wore, what they drank, what they did — when the question should always be about the actions of the person responsible. There are things we can learn from our experiences. But somebody else's decision to hurt us isn't something we should have to turn into a reason to blame ourselves.
And then comes “Fendi 2” — Rakhim, Khim & ayvo1o. No analysing. No searching for profound meaning. Just attitude, confidence, excess and a beat that gives us permission to turn everything else off for a minute.
It's an unusual pairing, but maybe there's something important in that contrast.
We can acknowledge what hurt us without allowing it to become everything we are.
We can demand accountability.
We can refuse to carry the blame.
And we can still laugh, dance, be ridiculous, feel confident and enjoy being alive.
Sometimes music helps us face the heavy stuff.
And sometimes it helps us put it down for a while ⚡
And that's where September's journey ends at BTN Music Club.

YOU CAN KNOW YOUR POWER AND STILL QUESTION EVERYTHING ⚡
September’s next pairing sits somewhere between certainty and doubt.
“Salem Witch” — Lilith Max is fierce, defiant and unwilling to be silenced — reclaiming the kind of knowledge, independence and outspoken power that history has so often tried to punish.
Then “Wonder” — Spencer Sutherland takes us somewhere far less certain. Into those late-night questions, the overthinking, the what ifs, and all the things we desperately wish we could know for sure.
On the surface, they couldn't feel much more different.
But perhaps real strength isn't about having every answer.
We can speak up and still have doubts.
We can know our worth and still wonder.
We can be powerful without being fearless.
You don't have to silence the questions inside you to trust the voice that's finally learned how to speak.

SOME THINGS WE RELEASE. SOME THINGS CHANGE US FOREVER. ⚡
There are moments in life that divide everything into a before and an after.
Sometimes that happens because we finally release something we've been carrying — an illusion, an expectation, a version of life that simply isn't ours anymore.
And sometimes it happens because something new arrives and suddenly the world looks completely different.
That's where September's next two songs meet.
“Illusions” — Grace Kinstler and “Sleepwalking” — Skinny Living approach change from opposite directions: one finds freedom in letting go, while the other captures the almost dreamlike wonder of discovering a love powerful enough to change the world around you.
And perhaps that's part of moving forward.
We don't have to hold onto everything we've known to honour what it meant.
And opening ourselves to something new doesn't erase everything that came before it.
Sometimes we release.
Sometimes we receive.
Either way, we become someone slightly different on the other side.

YOU DON’T HAVE TO BECOME SOMEBODY ELSE TO BE ENOUGH ⚡
September’s third pairing looks at two different ways we can disappear from ourselves.
“Shell” — MINOE comes from that place of comparison — looking at other people’s bodies, lives, confidence or success and wondering why we can’t somehow trade ourselves in for something better.
Then “My Mouth (la la la)” — ISHAN takes that same pressure into the social world: changing what we say, how we act, even parts of who we are, because maybe this version of us will finally be easier for somebody else to like.
They’re different struggles, but they lead to the same question:
How much of ourselves are we supposed to change before we finally decide we were worthy all along?
Growth is good. Change can be good.
But neither should require us to hate the person we started as.
Maybe the goal isn’t becoming somebody else.
Maybe it’s getting comfortable enough to stay ourselves.

LOVE SHOULDN’T REQUIRE YOU TO EARN YOUR PLACE ⚡
September’s second pairing moves from protecting ourselves into something just as important: belonging.
“Highs & Lows” — Alexander Jean celebrates a love that survives the irritating, imperfect, ordinary parts of sharing a life. Not because two people always get it right, but because love can make room for all the versions of us that show up along the way.
Then “Belong” — Mark Wilkinson takes that feeling beyond a relationship. Home, history, identity, the places that shaped us — there are parts of ourselves that nobody else gets to tell us we no longer have a right to.
Put the two together and there's something I think we all need reminding of occasionally:
The people and places that truly love us don't ask us to prove that we deserve to be there.
Through the highs and the lows.
Through change and uncertainty.
You are still allowed to take up space.
You still belong.

STAY — BUT DON'T LOSE YOURSELF⚡
September's first pairing might sound like two completely different messages.
“Do You Mind” — Galantis asks us to stay a little longer. To stop worrying about what comes next and let ourselves enjoy the person, the feeling or the moment we're in.
Then “Repeat” — Anees draws the boundary around that idea: protect your energy, remember your worth, and don't keep giving pieces of yourself to things that don't deserve them.
And maybe we need both.
Because protecting yourself doesn't have to mean shutting everyone out. Knowing your worth doesn't mean never taking a chance. And healing doesn't mean we stop letting ourselves feel good things when they arrive.
Sometimes it's about learning what deserves a place in our lives — and what doesn't.
Stay for what makes you feel alive.
Protect yourself from what makes you disappear.

WE’RE BACK ⚡🎶
August went a little quiet at BTN Music Club.
Sometimes life gets louder than the music, and over the last month I simply needed to step away for a while.
But September is here, the music is playing again, and I've got 12 new tracks ready to share with you.
This month's collection feels a little more personal.
These are songs about remembering who you are. Knowing you deserve to be here.
Protecting your energy without closing yourself off from the world. Loving through the highs and lows, letting go of what no longer serves you, finding the courage to speak up — and remembering that sometimes we're also allowed to just have some fun.
Do You Mind — Galantis
Repeat — Anees
Highs & Lows — Alexander Jean
Belong — Mark Wilkinson
Shell — MINOE
My Mouth (la la la) — ISHAN
Illusions — Grace Kinstler
Sleepwalking — Skinny Living
Salem Witch — Lilith Max
Wonder — Spencer Sutherland
Receipts — CYNTA
Fendi 2 — Rakhim, Khim & ayv1o
Twelve very different songs, but somehow they all found their place in September.
Maybe one of them will find you exactly when you need it too.
New month. New music. BTN is back. ⚡

BTN Music Club is a one-man show... sometimes the music gets quiet..
Behind every photo, article, review, email, website update and post is just one slightly chaotic Uncle Tatt trying to keep everything running and the music playing.
And sometimes, life gets in the way🙄
Things have been a little quieter around here lately, but I haven't disappeared.
I'm still working away behind the scenes, still getting out when I can, still photographing gigs, and still doing my best to support the incredible artists who keep giving us reasons to listen.
We'll get back to our usual updates, reviews and general musical chaos again soon.
For now, stick with me💙
The music always finds its way back ⚡🎷
