Celebrating 50 Years of Deadly! 🖤💛❤️

Narrogin came together at Alby Park on Thursday 17th for our NAIDOC Gala, celebrating 50 years of culture, strength, connection and deadly achievements.

KEEDAC, in partnership with other departments and organisations, set up stalls and activities for the community to enjoy. The day included a Welcome to Country, Smoking Ceremony and cultural performances, bringing everyone together to celebrate and share culture.

The celebrations continued inside the John Higgins Centre, where a special exhibition featured artwork on display, the Bush Babies portraits of our Elders, Yarns of the Heart dolls, and stories highlighting the revival of the creek.

The exhibition also celebrated public art created by community throughout the years, including the Boomerang Seat, Rainbow Serpent and community poles, showcasing the creativity, stories and strong cultural connections that continue to live throughout Narrogin.

A beautiful day celebrating our Elders, our culture, our stories, our artists and our community. 🖤💛❤️
