If you didn’t watch this one at some time in primary school - did you even go to school in Australia? For so many Australians, The Man From Snowy River isn’t just a movie - it’s a part of growing up.

The mountains. The horses. The music. The romance. And that legendary ride down the mountain that had an entire generation sitting on the edge of the couch.

It captured something uniquely Australian - toughness, independence, courage, loyalty and a deep connection to the land.

Released in 1982, it became one of those films families watched together, then watched again and again. For many of us, Jim Craig, Jessica Harrison and the High Country became woven into our childhood memories. Perhaps a little updated so it’d be great to see this one redone.

Some movies entertain you. Others become part of your upbringing. The Man From Snowy River was one of those.
