A little bit of my story…

I grew up watching my nana behind the chair. She was a hairdresser, my best friend, and the first person who showed me how powerful beauty can be. I think that’s where it all started. I always knew I wanted to be in this world.

When I was younger, I’d do makeup for friends and family for every event under the sun. I learned everything I could from YouTube, any tutorial I could get my hands on. But I went to an academic school that didn’t really support the idea of not going to uni. My friends didn’t really get it either. Everyone around me was picking degrees… and I just wanted a makeup brush.

I did work experience in studios and salons during school, graduated, and went straight into a hairdressing apprenticeship. Most of it was in a really toxic salon. The kind of place that slowly crushes the thing you love

And then my Nana passed away.
It broke me… but it also woke me up.
I realised I couldn’t keep associating something she inspired in me with a place that made me feel so small.

So I moved salons, finished my trade somewhere supportive, and while I loved hair, my heart kept telling me makeup was where I was meant to be.

I invested in proper training, built a professional kit piece by piece, and threw myself into volunteering for charity events just to learn, grow, and get experience. At the end of event season I launched Elysium… and I freaked out.

No bookings. No traction. Just fear that I’d made the wrong choice.

And then things started shifting.
I scored a job doing hair and makeup for television.
I started working weddings.
I gained confidence.
Brides trusted me.
I trusted myself.

Now I’m fully locked into my business, and my mission is simple:
to make every bride feel calm, beautiful, and genuinely supported on the most important morning of her life.

Nana would’ve loved this.
And I’m really proud to be here 🤍✨

Building this business has taught me so much more than just makeup ✨

A lot of growth happened quietly- through consistency, uncomfortable moments, learning boundaries, showing up even when I doubted myself, and slowly becoming more confident in who I am and what I offer.

I think social media can make success look instant sometimes, but the reality is that most of us are figuring it out as we go 🤍
