Maintenance day glow-up. This client’s locs had gone a few months without a check-in — new growth was showing, a couple of loose ones needed re-securing, but underneath it all the foundation was strong. A few hours later: neat, tight, and ready for another few months. This is honestly some of my favourite work — not flashy, just solid care that keeps locs looking their best long term. 🖤

Sunday pull:
Receiving — feels fitting as spring starts creeping in. New growth outside mirrors what happens in the chair every day; there’s something grounding about watching both unfold slowly, in their own time, without forcing it. Locs (and life) both remind me patience is the whole point. 🖤

Took a drive out to Mallala recently— just me, a true crime podcast and a large coffee. The beautiful lush green paddocks stretching out for miles. It’s a good reminder that this business doesn’t just live in one room; some of my favourite work happens out on the road, meeting people where they are. 🖤

Just a heads up — new dreadlock install bookings close Tuesday 29 September and won’t reopen until 12 January. If you’ve been thinking about starting your locs, September is really your last window for a while. Maintenance and dematting keep running as normal over that period, so this is purely about new installs. Drop me a DM if you want to grab one of the remaining spots. 🖤

Let’s talk about “the itchies.” If you’re a few weeks into new locs and your scalp feels itchier than usual, you’re not doing anything wrong — it’s genuinely one of the most common parts of the process. New locs sit differently on the scalp, and as everything settles in, a bit of itchiness is completely normal. What’s not normal: constant flaking, redness, or anything that feels more like irritation than settling in. If in doubt, message me and we’ll figure out what’s going on. 🖤

Helmet on, ready for the ride — and these locs get to go everywhere with him. There’s something so satisfying about locs on someone who’s genuinely hard on their hair: strong, secure work that holds up through helmets, wind and long rides, not just studio lighting. If your lifestyle is rough on your hair, that’s exactly the kind of work I love doing. 🖤

📢 Booking Update — New Dreadlock Installs
NEW INSTALL bookings only — maintenance and dematting are NOT affected and remain fully open. 💛
Across all Fairy Realm locations — Dreadlocks Society (Highbury), Tribal Spiral Dreadlocks (Daw Park), Barossa Beauty Collective (Nuriootpa), Sacred Siren Tattoo Studio (Birdwood), and the Dreadlock Roadshow (Mannum & Yorke Peninsula) — my books for new dreadlock install appointments will be closed from Tuesday 29 September 2026, reopening Tuesday 12 January 2027.
This gives me the space to focus on pre-Christmas bookings for my existing clients in the lead-up to the festive season.
Whilst the install book is closed, I’d still love to hear from new clients wanting to book an install for 2027 — I’m absolutely still offering pre-service consults during this time, so I can plan ahead and give you the best possible service once bookings reopen.
New enquiries for maintenance and dematting are unaffected and remain open throughout this period, as do all current bookings.

I love the idea of taking broken jewellery and recycled beads and turning them into something completely new. Nothing gets wasted if you’re willing to see it differently.
This is where my Fairy Tails come from — handcrafted bead strands made for locs, born from pieces that might otherwise have been thrown away. I also love creating bigger pieces for walls and windows, giving those same recycled beads a whole new home to shine in.
Every strand carries a little bit of history and a lot of love.
There’s something so satisfying about giving old things a second life.
