September is the month for Anniversaries at West Coast Bitumen. Today we celebrate Kyra Dickson as she marks 5 Years as our Administration Assistant.

Kyra is instrumental in the behind-the-scenes coordination of our crews' movements - she books their accommodation, arranges their inductions, schedules their week, and provides IT support when they have trouble with their timesheets. She also runs our Employee Wellbeing program and makes sure everyone is up to date on the latest health and safety advice.

Kyra brings a vibrant and empathetic personality to our team, and we love the energy she creates in our office.

This week we’re celebrating Dave Evans, who has officially clocked up an incredible 15 years with West Coast Bitumen!

Dave has been a huge part of the WCB team over the years and there’s no shortage of things that make Dave, well… Dave!

For starters, it’s not a truck, it’s a “lorrie”. And when it comes to spreader operations, Dave has certainly mastered the art of spending a suspicious amount of his working life driving backwards!

Jokes aside, Dave’s attention to detail when it comes to spreader operations is second to none. He takes pride in getting the job done properly and has built up a wealth of knowledge over his 15 years that he’s more than happy to pass on to the next generation of the crew.

Dave has also recently taken on the role of WHS Representative, adding another responsibility to his already long list of contributions to the team.

15 years is an impressive milestone, and we’re lucky to have had you as part of the West Coast Bitumen team.

We're looking for our next Admin & Compliance Manager at West Coast Bitumen.

Initial 12 Month contract covering parental leave for our current Admin & Compliance role, with potential to become an ongoing part of the team.

Part-time, flexible hours, 3 days a week, based in Port Lincoln (hybrid potential for the right person).

AfPA CEO Tony Aloisio was featured in The Age this week on the cost pressures now facing road infrastructure delivery across Australia.

Bitumen prices have risen approximately 50 per cent since the start of the conflict. Diesel terminal gate prices have risen by a similar amount. Tony told The Age that the combined effect is expected to increase delivered asphalt costs by 15 to 20 per cent nationally.

These are not Victorian issues alone, they affect every road project in every state and territory. AfPA continues to engage with road authorities and government at all levels to ensure the sector has the contract settings and supply chain support it needs to keep delivering.
