We tend to think self-love has to be something big.⠀
⠀
But sometimes it looks like eating enough, even when you're busy.⠀
Getting to bed a little earlier.⠀
Drinking more water than you think you need.⠀
⠀
These things aren't rewards you have to earn. They're the basics that help you feel and function at your best.⠀
⠀
Looking after yourself doesn't have to be complicated. Sometimes it's just meeting your body's needs before it has to shout for your attention.⠀
⠀
Eat a little more.⠀
Sleep a little more.⠀
Hydrate a little more.⠀
⠀
That's love.⠀

Not everything will go to plan today.⠀
⠀
The traffic will be annoying. Someone might cancel. The weather could change. You might get news you weren't expecting.⠀
⠀
That's just life.⠀
⠀
We spend so much energy trying to control things that were never ours to control in the first place. But there is one thing that always belongs to us: how we respond.⠀
⠀
We get to choose the story we tell ourselves.⠀
⠀
Is this the end of the world, or just an inconvenience?⠀
Is this unfair, or simply a challenge to navigate?⠀
Is this a setback, or an opportunity to grow?⠀
⠀
We can't always control what happens to us, but we can choose the meaning we give it.⠀
⠀
And sometimes, that small shift in perspective changes everything.⠀
⠀
✨ You may not control the situation, but you do control what you think about it.⠀
⠀
What's something you've learned to let go of trying to control?⠀

Maybe the things you've always thought made you "too much", "too sensitive", "too quiet", or just a little bit weird… are actually the things that make you, you.⠀
⠀
Many of us try to smooth out our rough edges and fit ourselves into boxes that were never made for us. We hide the quirks, dim the parts that stand out, and wonder why we still don't feel like we belong.⠀
⠀
But what if your magic lives in those very things?⠀
⠀
What if your kindness, your deep thinking, your love of the unusual, your big feelings, or your unique way of seeing the world are not flaws to fix, but gifts to embrace?⠀
⠀
Your worth isn't measured by how well you fit in. It's found in having the courage to show up as your authentic self.⠀
⠀
So here's your reminder: you don't need to become someone else to be enough. The magic you've been searching for has been there all along.⠀
⠀
✨ Stop trying to fix yourself.⠀
✨ Start celebrating what makes you different.⠀
✨ Your weird might just be your greatest gift.⠀

🏃♀️ Running Diaries | Melbourne Marathon Training | Week 2⠀
⠀
Monday started strong with an easy 8km run followed by legs and core. Tuesday was a rest day and a day of teaching yoga. Then the rain arrived… and it didn't let up. So Wednesday's 8km tempo and Friday's 6km easy run both happened on the treadmill. I don'tlove running on the treadmill, but it got the work done.⠀
⠀
The biggest challenge of the week came on Sunday: the Mt Misery trail run with my running bestie, hosted by Trail Running SA. A brutal 24km with over 1200m of elevation. The climbs were steep, relentless, and definitely lived up to the name. I even took a tumble on one of the descents and came away with a grazed knee to remember it by.⠀
⠀
The most disappointing part? No medal at the end to commemorate our effort! 😂⠀
⠀
I'm heading into next week with very sore legs, two kids home for the school holidays, and a quick trip to Sydney to fit around training. It's all about adapting and doing what you can with the season you are in.⠀
⠀
A little reminder that I'm running the Melbourne Marathon to raise funds for BeyondBlue. Since I started fundraising, so many of you have reached out to share your own stories of how Beyond Blue has supported you or someone you love during difficult times. Those conversations are proof of why this cause matters so much.⠀
⠀
If you'd like to support me, the donation link is in my bio. Whether it's $5, $20, or simply sharing this post, every bit of support means the world to me.⠀
⠀
Thank you for cheering me on. 💙🙏⠀

As we mature we realise that looking after ourselves isn't all about green juices, sunrise routines and profound breakthroughs. Most days it looks like:⠀
⠀
Resting without guilt.⠀
Eating the snacks you acturally want.⠀
Going for a run when it feels good.⠀
Saying not to things that drain you.⠀
Refusing to argue with every through your brain throws at you.⠀
⠀
Turns out, peace can be pretty ordinary. 🤍⠀

I run because it's where I find the pieces of me I thought I'd lost.⠀
⠀
The confidence that got buried under responsibilities. The strength I forgot I had. The quiet moments where I can hear my own thoughts again.⠀
⠀
Every run reminds me that the person I was looking for was never really gone—she was just waiting to be rediscovered. 🖤✨⠀
⠀
Have you ever found a piece of yourself through running or another passion?⠀

When we think of self-compassion, we often picture being gentle with ourselves—resting, slowing down, or speaking kindly to ourselves.⠀
⠀
But self-compassion has another side.⠀
⠀
Sometimes it's fierce.⠀
⠀
It's the voice that says, "This isn't okay anymore." It's setting a boundary, asking for help, speaking up, or making a change that protects your wellbeing.⠀
⠀
Fierce self-compassion isn't harsh or selfish. It's a deep commitment to ourselves. It's having the courage to honour our needs, stand up for what matters, and choose what is healthy and sustainable—even when it's uncomfortable.⠀
⠀
Being compassionate with yourself doesn't always mean being soft. Sometimes it means being brave enough to take action.⠀
⠀
Where in your life could you use a little more fierce self-compassion right now? ❤️⠀

There are so many voices telling us what we should do, how we should live, and who we should become.⠀
⠀
But some of the best guidance is already inside of you.⠀
⠀
Your values remind you what really matters.⠀
Your intuition helps you recognise what feels right.⠀
And your nervous system lets you know when something feels safe, overwhelming, or out of alignment.⠀
⠀
The more we learn to listen to these three guides, the easier it becomes to make decisions that actually fit our lives, instead of trying to live someone else's.⠀
⠀
You don't need to have all the answers. Sometimes you just need to get quiet enough to hear yourself.⠀
⠀
What has one of these guides been trying to tell you lately?⠀
