Some people sell travel. Sharee Fischer has lived it. 🙏 Next Friday, 9 October, we're putting Sharee Fischer - TravelManagers in the spotlight as our Toowoomba Business Partners member presenter.

Travel has been part of Sharee's life for decades. Born in Toowoomba and graduating high school in Roma, she joined the Royal Australian Air Force at just 20. At 22, her first overseas experience was a deployment to the Middle East, and it sparked a lifelong love of seeing the world.

She hasn't stopped travelling since.

Sharee has now visited 32 countries, including many adventures while living in Saudi Arabia with her family for almost six years.

Today, she brings that real-world travel experience into the business she's built, helping her clients create personalised, stress-free holidays and experiences of their own.

We can't wait to learn more Sharee!

Visitors are always welcome to experience a Toowoomba Business Partners networking breakfast. Reach out to book.

‘Essentially, food scientists help make food tasty, safe and compliant.’

Such a wonderfully simple explanation from Stewart Eddie from Askafoodtech Pty Ltd during his Toowoomba Business Partners presentation about what a food technologist actually does!

And yet, if you eat commercially produced food, food science touches so much of what eventually ends up on our shelves.

Stewart showed us exactly what that looks like through one of his clients, who had developed a coconut-water product in their home kitchen but didn't know how to take it to market.

Stewart helped assess the food-safety risks, made sure the recipe could work commercially, sourced ingredients and found a manufacturer, while preserving the taste, flavour and integrity of the original idea.

The product launched in late 2025 and within approximately nine months had grown from zero to 75 locations across Australia.
Today, that product is in 123 locations across the country.

THAT is food technology.

Taking an idea that might begin in someone's kitchen and helping navigate everything required to turn it into a safe, commercially viable product that can actually sit on a shelf.

'That's what motivates me... getting those products to market that don't exist and seeing a client's dream come true.’

Thank you, Stewart, for such an entertaining, fascinating and incredibly informative presentation. More importantly, we now understand who might need you. If we meet someone sitting on an incredible recipe they've created at home and wondering, ‘How do I actually take this to market?’, we know exactly who they should be talking to. Stewart Eddie from Ask a Food Tech.

We also welcomed some wonderful visitors.

Meet our Member Speaker, Stewart Eddie | Askafoodtech Pty Ltd
With more than 20 years of experience as a food technologist, Stewart Eddie has an incredible depth of knowledge in an industry most of us know very little about.

Stewart helps business owners take a food idea and turn it into a product that can actually make it onto shop shelves.

From developing the product itself to making sure it is safe, correctly labelled and ready to sell, Stewart helps businesses navigate the journey from idea to shelf.

Over his career, Stewart has worked with organisations including Unilever/Weis, NestlĂŠ and the South Australian Research & Development Institute. Today, through Ask a Food Tech, he brings that experience and knowledge to businesses developing their own food products.

Stewart is a big personality with big energy, incredibly generous with his knowledge and very well liked and respected by those who know and work with him.

We can't wait to put the spotlight on Stewart and learn more about the fascinating work he does at our next Toowoomba Business Partners breakfast Friday 25 September.

Visitors are always welcome to come along and experience a Toowoomba Business Partners breakfast for themselves.

‘I just want the customers to feel proud about their properties and confident that it’s being looked after.’

Those words from Scott Pearson at 1 Green Thumb Gardening really captured the heart of his presentation at our latest Toowoomba Business Partners breakfast.

For Scott, soil isn’t simply something a garden grows in. It is a living ecosystem, and the more he's learned about soil biology, microbes, fungi, insects, water, and the relationships between them, the more fascinated he's become by what is happening beneath the surface.

That curiosity has shaped his business. Scott spoke about the time he spends researching and learning, continually building his knowledge so he can understand not just what is happening in a garden, but why.

He also challenged us to think differently about what makes a healthy garden. Rather than automatically treating everything we perceive as a problem, Scott encouraged us first to understand what is happening within the ecosystem and whether intervention is actually needed.

Ultimately, his goal is not to create gardens that need more and more intervention. It is to create healthier, more resilient spaces that improve over time and can require less ongoing maintenance.

Scott shared one incredible example of a property that had become completely overwhelmed, with w**ds growing as high as the clothesline. Through improving and caring for the property over time, he reduced the w**d seed bank by around 90%, and today he only needs to return around three times a year for ongoing care.

That is an extraordinary example of what can happen when we look beyond what we see on the surface and start strengthening the foundations underneath.

And what a morning we had around Scott’s presentation! We welcomed one of our largest groups of visitors in quite some time:

Sonia Christou and Kallia Koronaiou from All Star Brokers
Catherine O’Brien from Place Loom
Daniel and Kylie Brasch from Four Sons Group
Ted Carter from Ascend Learning
Shae Hogan from Limitless AI
Abigail Leslight, Year 12 student and producer of her upcoming play

Finally, thank you Scott for sharing your knowledge, curiosity and genuine passion with us.

Our next regular breakfast open to visitors will be Friday 25 September. If you'd like to experience Toowoomba Business Partners, we'd love to hear from you.

Wonderful to learn more about Jodi Hay from Growth Engine Digital. Jodi describes herself as a tech, AI and numbers geek who loves learning, loves doing difficult things and has always wanted to understand how things work.

Her career has taken her through telecommunications, construction, accounting, finance and marketing, but there has been a common thread throughout: Jodi loves understanding how things work and using data to make better decisions.

As Jodi shared: ‘I love data and metrics that tell a story.’

Today, she brings that experience together through Growth Engine Digital, specialising in website design and SEO for established service businesses. For Jodi, a website isn't simply about looking good. She wants to understand whether it is actually helping a business generate leads and achieve results.

‘Results don't lie.’ But what stood out just as strongly was the way Jodi described her approach to her clients:

‘When I take on a client, I'm all in.’ Jodi cares about their success, generously shares her knowledge and describes herself as becoming their cheerleader and biggest supporter.

Thank you, Jodi, for sharing your story so openly and giving us a much greater understanding of the experiences, curiosity and determination behind Growth Engine Digital.

Thank you also to our wonderful visitors, Ivan from American Resprays & Mechanical, and Sonia and William from All Star Brokers. It was great to learn more about you and your businesses.

Our next guest breakfast is Friday 11 September. If you’d like to come along and experience Toowoomba Business Partners, reach out. We’d love to welcome you.

One of the things I value most about our Toowoomba Business Partners member presentations is the opportunity to understand not only what someone does, but how they think.

Recently, we had the opportunity to hear from Erin Wright from Ordinis Advisory, and Erin gave us a fascinating insight into the experience and thinking behind her business.

Her career has taken her through banking and financial planning, the defence industry, heavy plant manufacturing and advisory services, giving her extensive hands-on experience in the realities of business. Through Ordinis Advisory, Erin works with growing businesses to strengthen their financial management, structure and governance, helping business owners make better decisions and build the foundations for sustainable growth.

‘What problem are we really solving?’ Erin wants to understand and observe what is actually happening before jumping to a solution.

She asks incredibly valuable questions: What does success actually look like for the business owner? Which products make money? Is pricing keeping up with costs? Where are the bottlenecks? Can the business scale without the owner simply working harder?

And then comes the part where Erin shines: ‘Let's find a practical solution.’

Erin is direct, analytical and refreshingly straightforward. She has a genuine desire to help business owners create clarity, make better decisions and build businesses that can grow sustainably.

Thank you, Erin, for sharing your journey, experience and knowledge with our Toowoomba Business Partners team.

Guests are always welcome to join us and experience what Toowoomba Business Partners is all about. Our next breakfast is this Friday, 14 August 2026.

We're looking forward to welcoming Jodi Hay from Growth Engine Digital as our upcoming member speaker at the next Toowoomba Business Partners breakfast on Friday 14 August.

Many of our members have already had the opportunity to work with Jodi and experience the depth of knowledge she brings to a business.

With 20 years of experience in accounting, tax and finance, followed by more than a decade in website design and digital marketing, Jodi brings a unique perspective that goes far beyond creating beautiful websites. She understands business, numbers and strategy, and asks the questions that help businesses grow.

What I admire most about Jodi is that she measures success by her clients' success. She isn't interested in simply building beautiful websites. She's committed to helping businesses grow, and she's prepared to ask the questions that make that possible.

Whether she's improving a website, strengthening local SEO or helping business owners better understand their online performance, her focus is always on creating measurable outcomes.

We're looking forward to hearing more about Jodi's journey, her experience and the practical insights she'll be sharing with our group.

Guests are always welcome to join us and experience what Toowoomba Business Partners is all about. We'd love to see you there, reach out if that interests you.
