Your skin is telling you what is happening inside your body. Sometimes it shows up on your face other times. It shows up in the rest of your body for me. It was definitely on my face. A stress appeared in the form of chronic acne than dry skin swollen slowly lymphatic system noticeable through a puffy face. So what are some of the things that I do to mitigate stress in my body? It’s not meditation sometimes it’s going in nature but generally it’s not that as a health coach for over 10 years. What I learned about stress is it hazard direct impact on your stomach and what happens in your stomach shows on your skin and it’s called the gut skin axis. Even if you don’t feel stressed, your body registers it earlier than the signs show on your skin. A compromise Gut or a gut in disbiosis usually starts from stress so a great way to help me to get that is having these three drinks every single day just one come
Meat stock with liver juice
Fresh cow milk kefir
Pomegranate juice
And an additional one would be on the occasion or Dalie if you can roast a dandelion.
Pomegranate juice and fresh cow milk kefir feed the gut incredibly and meat stock with liver juice provide glycine glutathione to help heal leaky gut. Even if you’re not stressed or not feeling stressed this is a great prevention and even better way to keep glowing hydrated skin all year round. Of course using this in conjunction with natural skincare for best results.

Dehydrated skin a multifaceted. This is just one reason it might be occurring

Most people think dry, dehydrated skin means they need to drink more water. The water was never really the problem. The problem is whether your body can hold onto the water you already drink, and a lot of that comes down to your gut.
Your gut lining is where water and minerals like sodium, potassium and magnesium get pulled into the body. Those minerals are what let your cells actually hold water instead of flushing it straight through. When your gut is inflamed or your microbiome is out of balance, that absorption falters. You can drink litres a day and still end up with tight, flaky skin, because the water is passing through rather than being kept.
The bacteria in your gut help maintain that lining and support how those minerals are absorbed. Feed them well and your skin can finally hold onto the water it needs.
Kefir made from fresh cow’s milk is one of the richest living sources of those bacteria you can make at home. A glass a day gives your gut a steady supply of the microbes that keep absorption working the way it should. Many people notice their skin feels plumper and less papery within a few weeks.
Dehydrated skin often starts on the inside. Feed the gut, and pair it with a barrier that holds what you have. Our Australian Botanical Cream works with your skin’s own structure to lock that hydration in, so the water your gut absorbs has somewhere to stay.

Most “beauty sleep” talk gets one thing backwards, so let’s start there. Your skin actually loses more water at night than it does during the day. The rate that moisture evaporates out through the surface, what’s called transepidermal water loss, climbs while you sleep. So sleep isn’t hydrating your skin on its own. What it’s doing is something more useful.
Overnight your body lowers cortisol to its daily low point and lifts growth hormone, and that shift is what lets the real repair happen. Cortisol breaks down collagen and weakens the barrier, so when it drops, collagen rebuilding and barrier repair finally get a clear run. Skin cell turnover roughly doubles compared to daytime. The barrier lipids that hold water in get restored. So while water is escaping faster at night, your skin is also rebuilding the very structure that traps moisture. The two race each other, and good sleep is what lets repair win.
When you don’t sleep, cortisol stays high. The barrier never fully rebuilds, water loss stays elevated, and your skin simply can’t catch up. Here’s how that shows up:
Tightness and dryness by morning, because the barrier hasn’t restored its lipids and water has been leaving faster than it can be held. Puffiness and a dull, flat tone, as overnight circulation stays sluggish and fluid pools where it shouldn’t. And fine lines that look deeper, which is less about ageing overnight and more about a barrier that’s dehydrated and sitting flatter than it did the day before.
This is exactly why what you put on at night matters more than people think. You’re working against peak water loss while the barrier is mid repair. A few drops of Dew Drops before bed lays down a layer of barrier-supporting fatty acids that slow that overnight water loss, so your skin keeps more of the moisture it’s fighting to hold while it does its repair work. You wake up looking like you actually rested, even on the nights you didn’t quite.

3 signs your skin is telling you your gut needs attention
When something’s off internally, it shows up on the surface long before anywhere else and most of us are taught to treat the top layer without asking what it’s pointing to.
Three that get missed:
Dry skin no moisturiser seems to fix. We blame the weather or our routine. But skin that stays flaky and dull no matter what you put on it can be your thyroid asking for attention. An underactive thyroid slows everything down, including how much oil your skin makes, so it reads as dry when the cause sits much deeper.
Skin tags, especially a cluster of them. We treat them as a cosmetic afterthought, but several around the neck, underarms or eyelids can be an early flag for insulin resistance often well before it turns up in a routine check.
Redness that behaves like rosacea. Usually managed as a skin condition on its own, when for a lot of people it’s pointing inward. The gut is one cause an imbalance in the bacteria of the small intestine. The liver is the other: fatty liver has been linked to rosacea closely enough that some researchers think facial redness can be one of its earliest visible signs. It travels with insulin resistance and high blood sugar, which is why these three so often turn up together.
None of this is a diagnosis. It’s an invitation to listen. If something sounds familiar, it’s worth a proper chat with your GP rather than another product thrown at the surface.

Why is this Tallow skincare made a little bit different to others? There’s several reasons one of them is I infuse this with potent herbal botanics like Quandong, Sea Buckthorn and Rose hips. This little pot of gold is also infused with Qo10. Coq10 when used topically helps to fight against free radicals on the skin and also mitigate UV damage. It’s a potent skincare ingredient often overlooked.

My skincare range no longer uses beeswax and instead I have spent months formulating this particular cream so that it’s never grainy always creamy without the use of beeswax. It absorbs beautifully into the skin and you really do only need the smallest part.

The hyoid bone has no joint. It’s the only bone in the body that floats — suspended mid-throat entirely by muscle and fascia, anchoring the tongue above and the larynx below.
Stick your tongue out fully and hold it for 45 seconds. The pull under your chin, tracking down the front of your throat, sometimes to the chest — that’s the anterior fascial chain, one continuous sheet of tissue from tongue root to sternum, receiving load it almost never gets. The floor of the mouth carries tension the same way the shoulders do, just silently, in a place nobody looks. The mylohyoid, the geniohyoid, the whole muscular basin the tongue rests in — bracing, accumulating, year on year.
What releases when you do this consistently:
• Face shape — chronic contraction in the submental muscles pulls the lower face downward and forward. As that releases, the jawline lifts and the chin-to-throat relationship changes visibly over time
• Fine lines around the mouth — the orbicularis oris and surrounding musculature hold expression patterns that etch into skin. Stretching the anterior chain creates length through tissue that’s otherwise permanently shortened
• Skin hydration — fascial restriction reduces local circulation. Released fascia moves fluid more freely, and that shift in microcirculation shows in the skin’s surface quality
45 seconds. Free. Every day.

I used to spend hundreds of dollars on skincare every month. I also used to do a lot of treatments to help my skin. But nothing actually helped. I still had acne, I still had redness and inflammation. Then I stopped ! I stopped using all skincare, started using just cold water, dry brush every 2 days. Then i met Tallow and it changed my skin. Over 6 months I stopped getting new acne, then a year later, my skin was just little red dots, not raised acne just dots on my skin. Then 6 months after the first year I was completely glowing for the first time I 17 years! No acne just gorgeous skin with some little scars. Sometimes the most powerful skincare is the most simplest.
6 years later I’m still acne free and using my cleanser and cream daily with busted glowing skin. Aging gracefully and loving every minute of my journey.

Since the age of 11 right through the age 28 I suffered with that severe acne across my skin. It wasn’t just acne that was hormonal. It was across my forehead my cheek my back my chest my chin it was everywhere. It wasn’t until I started eating more organ meats making home-made stock like chicken stock, beef stock and incorporating that alongside zinc supplements daily. Topically I stopped using all products from the shops and I started using TALLOW skincare products that I made myself. It was the combination of more animal proteins and natural skin care that I believe change my skin. I now have glowing skin and have not had acne for over five years. I honestly lost hope and thought that my entire life was just going to have acne across my face.

If you are like me and still suffering with acne just know there is hope it just takes trial and error and a redo of your entire skincare regime. Everybody is different and everyone will always have a different reaction to natural skincare but if there’s ever going to be any proof that it does work, I am this proof.
