The Founder:
Amadou Doumbia's international upbringing has been the cornerstone of his beauty brand, Wuli Grooming. Born in Mali and raised in New York City, Amadou has spent the past 13+ years abroad, seven in China and Hong Kong and the current six+ in Sydney, Australia. This global perspective fueled his vision for Wuli, launched in 2022 with a mission to create simple, plant-based styling products for curls of all textures, from wavy to coily. Amadou saw a gap in the market for products that were effective, easy to use, and free from harsh chemicals and synthetics. He believes that plant-based ingredients offer the best deep hydration and moisturization for even the most sensitive hair types. Drawing on his extensive experience in marketing, communications, and branding, Amadou brought Wuli to life with the ambition of becoming one of the most forward-thinking, black-owned hair care brands with a truly global audience.
