When I stopped buying from Mecca I didn't have a plan... (if you saw my post last week you would have read that I was such a Mecca fan that I got a personal Christmas gift from the founder).

For me, I just couldn't un-know what I'd learned.

I was holding my son in my arms and he was allergic to everything. He has such delicate skin...

So I started reading the ingredients panel on my self care products as well and I was shocked with what I found.

I already had oils in the house.

I'd been using them for years for other things, health stuff mostly. But I started experimenting with them on my skin and it improved pretty quickly.

My skin was responding in a way it never had with the expensive stuff. The redness that I had on my cheeks felt calmer within days.

I started making things myself, simply because I couldn't find what I wanted and the US clean brands wouldn't ship here.

I didn't have some grand plan to start a skincare brand. I only wanted to know exactly what was going on my face and into my children's skin when I kissed them goodnight.

What I landed on was three steps. Because it was easy and I didn't have to include any crappy preservatives!

1. Oil cleanser.

2. Spritz.

3. Oil serum.

That's it. Still (pretty much*) is.

While everyone else was moving toward 15-step routines and $800 treatment packages, I was going the other direction.

And my skin was better than it had ever been.

Because simple isn't lazy – it's what actually works.

The truth is, your skin doesn't need more products. It needs the right ones.

Nobody warned me that my chest skin would change overnight in menopause. One day it was fine, and then... what happened?

If you're in your 30s or 40s, this is your sign to start loving this area now, before you need to.

Starting at the heart space and sweeping out toward your armpits in a rainbow motion stimulates lymphatic drainage and keeps blood flowing to the surface of the skin.

That's what keeps it plump, unmarked, and juicy.

A gua sha or facial cupping tool works beautifully here, and so does a simple face cloth. The technique is the same.

Your skincare routine doesn't stop at your chin.

DM me if you want to know exactly what I'm using on my chest right now.

This was back when she had maybe two tiny stores.

Not the Sephora-killer she is now.

She was just beginning her foray into expanding the array of products we could access in Australia.

And I was one of her best customers.

Skincare was never just skincare for me. It was a thing I shared with my mother.

When I was young, my mum would book herself a facial once a month with the Ella Bache counter at David Jones, and sometimes I'd be there waiting for her afterwards, watching. Thinking that's what it looked like to take care of yourself.

So I took that with me into adulthood and I spent accordingly.

Then I started learning what was actually in the products I'd been buying.

That $350 tub I kept going back for? 75-80% petroleum. 😳

The kind of ingredient that has no business being on your face, let alone something you pay hundreds of dollars for.

I'm not angry about it because I didn't know what I didn't know. Many of us didn't.

But something changed once I had children because I started paying more attention.

And once you know what's actually in even so-called 'natural' and 'hypoallergenic' products, you can't un-know it...

So I started asking different questions about everything I was putting on my skin.

And I have a lot more to share with you on this...

Your skin already knows how to be soft.

Sometimes it just needs a nudge.

If you have been dealing with dry, scaly skin and nothing seems to be working, try this.

Grab some sugar, a splash of cooking olive oil, and a few drops of essential oil if you like.

Smush it together, scrub it all over in the shower, and let the oil do the rest. No moisturiser needed afterwards. The oil takes care of it.

Simple and intentional. Exactly how skincare should feel.

There is something almost ritual-like about this.

You are not adding more products to your routine.

You are coming back to something the earth already gave us.

That is the energy we build everything around at SkinGlow Alchemy, the idea that your most radiant skin is already there, waiting to be uncovered.

One thing to note: the shower floor will be slippery afterwards, so please step carefully.

Save this for your next slow morning, and DM me if you want more simple, low-tox rituals like this one.

When your customers say they’re ADDICTED 😂✨

The SkinGlow Mist has become that product - the one you reach for morning, afternoon, and anytime your skin needs a refresh.

I love it for setting makeup, combating dryness from air-conditioning and heating, and those moments when your skin just needs a pick-me-up.

It’s also a lifesaver on flights (imagine me spraying non-stop on our flight to Vietnam last week) and windy days when your complexion needs extra love.

And of course, every batch is energetically coded with rose quartz and amethyst because skincare should nourish more than just your skin. ✨

When your nail artist reaches for your own product... you know you have done something right.

Our Cuticle Oil is one of those things that once people feel it, they get it immediately. It absorbs fast, leaves your cuticles deeply soft, and supports stronger, faster-growing nails with consistent use.

Hand-blended in our Sydney studio using jojoba, argan, olive and organic castor bean oils, all rich in vitamin E, it nourishes the nail bed and helps prevent those ouchy hang nails between appointments.

And like every SkinGlow Alchemy blend, it is vibrationally coded with reiki, moon-charged crystals, sound healing, and biogeometry. Because high-vibration nourishment is not just for your face.

No fillers. No fragrance. No synthetic preservatives. Just pure, intentional care for your nails and cuticles.

And nail artist approved!

Is your skin telling you to slow down on exfoliation?

If you have sensitive skin, or you are noticing irritation in certain areas, this is your sign to listen. Avoid those spots, go gently, and let your skin lead.

Exfoliation does not have to be aggressive to be effective.

I have just started using this beautiful half-moon facial brush and I am completely in love. It is designed to soothe your nervous system, support lymphatic drainage in your face, and give you the gentlest exfoliation. Think nothing like a body scrub, and everything like a ritual.

This is the kind of tool that works with your skin, not against it.

DM me BRUSH and I will send you all the details.

If your skin suddenly feels dry, sensitive, or reactive to everything, your skin barrier is the first place to look.

The skin barrier is responsible for keeping moisture in and irritants out, but it’s also influenced by internal factors like hormones, health status, and environmental exposure.

Skin barrier repair is about restoring the structure and function of your skin so it can protect, hydrate, and regulate itself effectively.

Let's break down what’s really going on and how to fix it.

How is your skin barrier? Let me know in the comments!

That little spot between your eyebrows? It is one of the most powerful calming points on your whole face.

Your nervous system responds to that touch the same way. It is a signal that you are safe, that you are not being chased by a tiger (😄), that you can soften and breathe.

This is why we love gua sha near this area.

Not just for the physical benefits to your skin... but because of what it does to your whole system.

Try it now even just your fingertips.

Eyes closed, gentle strokes along your forehead and down the bridge of your nose.

Feel the difference?

I used to shave, slap on lotion, and wonder why my skin felt drier by the end of the day.

It took me a while to work out that shaving does not just remove hair. It strips a fine layer of the lipid barrier that holds moisture in your skin. And lotion does not actually replace what has been taken.

Most body lotions are mostly water with a small amount of oil. They feel hydrating for a moment, then the water evaporates and you are left with skin that is still asking for help.

I put together a guide on why body oils work so differently, and why they are particularly powerful for skin that has been stripped, stressed, or is in barrier repair mode.

It covers how oils work with your skin's natural lipid layer, why the massage matters as much as the oil itself, and the best oils for repair.

The body oil I reach for first when my skin needs more than lotion can give is Venus BodyGlow.

I blended it under a Cazimi, the brief, potent window when Venus meets the heart of the Sun and is at her most renewed. The formula is twelve plant oils, Tiger Nut, Olive, Jojoba, Pomegranate, Sesame, layered with Rose, Neroli, Vanilla and Frankincense. Gold mica dust catches the light. A lunar-charged Herkimer Diamond goes in to amplify everything.

Every batch is vibrationally coded with reiki, moon-charged crystals, biogeometry, and sound healing. You can feel the difference.

Warm a few drops between your palms. Massage into damp skin after your shower or straight after shaving. Breathe it in.

Venus BodyGlow is $111. A one-time blend, hand-blended in our Sydney studio. When it is gone, it is gone.
