La Punk Project
LA PUNK is an Australian design-led personal care brand creating natural, refillable everyday essentials with plastic-free packaging.
From lip balms and deodorant to healthier-home ideas and The RESET Club, we’re building better choices for everyone. This is a story about friendship and a joint love of travel, fashion, design and beautiful natural textiles. When Natalie Knoll and Macayla Chapman met in Sydney in 2012, little did they know that they were starting an Antipodean success story that would take their resort wear from
A healthier home can often begin with paying closer attention to what is already there.
What we loved from our conversation with Louisa Grey was how practical her approach felt. Start with the things we live with most closely. If you can, and are renovating, look at paint, flooring then assess mattresses, sofas, bedding and textiles, and choose natural materials where they make sense.
Open windows on opposite sides of the house to create airflow. Let in more natural light. Keep the bedroom calm and uncluttered. And when something eventually needs replacing, choose consciously- linen, cotton, wool, timber, glass or stainless steel.
Louisa teaches us that healthier design is not about constant replacement but rather It is about using what you have well. Choosing with more intention over time, and bringing fewer things into the home. But bring ones that are made to last.
It is a philosophy we keep coming back to at LA PUNK: fewer things, better considered, designed to stay in use.

We spend most of our lives indoors, yet we still tend to judge our homes by how they look rather than how they make us feel.
For Louisa Grey, founder of House of Grey, a healthier home begins with considering how an environment supports human and ecological health. Her approach, Circular Salutogenic Design, looks at the whole space- the air we breathe, the materials we touch, the surfaces we live alongside and the way our surroundings affect us physically, emotionally and psychologically.
That means prioritising natural and low-VOC finishes, natural fibres and flooring, good ventilation and daylight, while considering the cumulative impact of the materials brought into a home. It also means circularity: keeping what already works, choosing materials that age well, can be repaired or reused, and replacing things consciously as they naturally reach the end of their life.
The goal isn’t a “perfect” home or an expensive overhaul. It is a more restorative environment and one that gives us space to breathe, recover and feel more like ourselves.
Often the most meaningful reset can be the simplest: a change in a scentscape to shift your vibrational energy, enhance with what you already have and choose better over time.

LA PUNK PROJECT is a start up by two mum’s based in Sydney. We want better choices, healthier products and ultimately a healthier home for our family to live in. We are launching beautiful design-led personal care essentials, no plastic, no nasties. Follow us as we near our launch date!
The things we live with every day influence more than how a home looks. The materials around us, the air we breathe and the products we use on our skin all contribute to a healthier home.
This month, we are taking a deeper dive into what makes a healthy home. From renovation choices, materials and ventilation to simple, practical changes that can make everyday spaces feel better to live in.
For us, healthier living and sustainable design belong together. It is not about replacing everything, but paying closer attention to what we use most and choosing better when it matters.

Based in Sydney, LA PUNK PROJECT is an Australian design-led personal care and lifestyle brand exploring healthier homes, natural personal care and refillable, plastic free packaging.
This month we go deeper into this quest for a healthy home and better choices. We will be sharing practical advice from friends and experts, hearing about the small changes that genuinely work for them and ideas we can all try in real life.
This isn’t about expensive overhauls but rather we want useful information, more considered choices and everyday changes that can make our homes feel better.
And as September unfolds, we’ll also begin revealing the refillable personal care products we’ve been building in Australia.

Looking back over this month we are reminded that rituals are rarely dramatic and overbearing. They are built from simple moments repeated over time. Those small decisions that shape our homes and our families and even the way we move through the world.
That is where LA PUNK began too. Not with products but with an idea that the objects we live with every day should deserve a place in those rituals.
In September, we’re excited to finally introduce them.
Until then, thank you for joining us as we explored the everyday moments that inspired everything we’ve built.

After a month spent talking about rituals we are keen to see what earns a permanent place in our own lives.
The habits we keep and the objects we return to every day tell us far more about how we want to live than the things we’re constantly encouraged to add. LA PUNK is about better products and healthier homes.
We want to hear all about your rituals and the essentials you can’t live without.

One of the reasons we started The RESET Club was because the best ideas often come from seeing how somebody else lives.
A ritual that works in one home can inspire a completely different change in another, allowing a simple idea to travel much further than the person who first shared it.
A friend once said try to sit and enjoy your coffee.. instead of racing off to the next meeting. We’ve started taking a moment to stop, whenever we can, and set our intention for the day. Or even just day dream.

Choose one. Choose better. For the future.

We have become accustomed to objects being replaced before they have had the chance to become familiar. We are much more interested in things that become better through use, carrying the marks of everyday life rather than being discarded when something newer arrives.
The future of good design is not always about creating the next big thing. We think it might also be about creating something people genuinely want to keep and covet.
