Wishing you a very happy and horsey Easter!
I think I might pull out the clippers and get a bit clipper-artsy this weekend so should have some new clipper-art on here next week.
Lessons are getting a roll on too. I am bringing what I have learned over nearly 30 years in the industry and weaving in self awareness and mindfulness practices to get new levels of connection and confidence. š

When life seems tough, when we feel like we are failing.
When we donāt see and feel, our horses as well as we should. When we miss things.
When we make a mistake and have the feelings of embarrassment or short comings when someone else seeās what we didnāt and points it out to us.
Donāt beat yourself up, give yourself forgiveness and grace. There is growth and learning to be had.
While ever you have a desire to grow and be better your horse knows, your intentions will outshine your mistakes, your learning and betterment will outshine those who donāt dig deep to be better for their horses.
And just remember, whatever it is you didnāt see or feel correctly and effectivelyā¦

I have been approached by companies in the past to promote their products, a couple of them big names. I have never used their products and been ecstatic with the results and when I have deep dived into the ingredients, I am often shocked at the drying and damaging chemicals used, you get a result today at the expense of your future tail.
But then I heard a whisperā¦
Right here in Tamworth, living on the same road as me non the less a lovely lady they called The Equine Stylist Australia was making a tail spray called NAUGHTY KNOTS and people and horses are loving it!
So I got some to try and boy oh boy! The pictures here are the product put into dirty tails!
The optimum result of course comes from a washed and conditioned tail.
I will put a little video of it working and me being all impressed etc in comments š.
And guess what⦠the main ingredient is raw coconut oil.
Get it⦠try it⦠you will be glad you did, especially as at the moment you can get it for the wholesale price of $20 a bottle! This will be limited.
Regards Katharine.

Clipping season is coming. Hair is dropping and growing.
Like a pheonix rising from the ashesā¦if the Pheonix was quite stiff, plump, missing a few brain cells, having narley hot flushes, as well as short on feathers and void of breastā¦I am coming back to life!
That means pulling out the clippers and oiling the blades!
Those who follow and find me on Professional Equine Presentation by Katharine Bowe š come on over here to my new page please to be kept abreast ( breast cancer pun intended) of my work going forward with will combine grooming, clipping and coaching with a bit of person developing stuff as well.

I often talk about our tendency to anthropomorphise horses ( treat them like they think and learn like we do and act for reasons we would) and the injustice that is to the horse as well as a block to gaining connection and understanding.
Horses do not have metacognition ( strategies, self analysis and forward planning), this does not mean they arenāt smart and adaptable.
Standing on a hose for example⦠sometimes we are convinced they know! The question we have to ask is WHY, itās not personal, itās not to slow you down or make your life difficult, horses just donāt operate this way. They are driven by their need for comfort, safety and survival ( food, often and always lol).
So WHY would they step on the hose āon purposeā?
I donāt think there is one answer, I think there are likely as many answers as there are horses and hose bays.
When you depersonalise and consider that itās not about you but more likely either meeting an immediate need for themselves (relief?) or a form of communication ( engage with me? Oi that just splashed in my ear?), what āreasonsā can you think of???
Looking for the WHY from the horses point of view doesnāt always give clarity but it grows our awareness and develops our ability to understand.

I am not for everyone and that is ok. I am a lateral, out of the box thinker. I love to think, break everything down and draw parallels with different areas of life. I love to talk and teach. I work hard to listen and hear what people and horses have to say, to understand them as individuals. I donāt have a cookie cutter approach.
I believe in all of us, no matter our goals, ambitions, age or talent.
I see struggles, trauma, neurodivergence, motherhood, menopause and anxiety.
As long as you have a love for the horse, an open and curious mind, a desire to learn and growā¦
You are my people and I find joy in being your passionate facilitator and coach.
Regards Katharine.
