Winki Zinc

Hi lovely Winki community,

I’ve been sitting with this for a long time, and I’m finally ready to share it with you: Winki Zinc will be closing.

This is the kind of message I never wanted to write, because Winki has truly been a labour of love. At the same time, life is changing for us — we have another baby on the way, and as our family grows, I’ve had to get really honest about what’s sustainable.

In this industry, there’s constant pressure to grow bigger, faster, and louder just to keep up. But rather than scale Winki into something it was never meant to be (and push myself beyond what feels possible), I’ve chosen a different path: to grow my family and to close Winki Zinc with care.

The other honest piece is that running a small, values-led sunscreen brand in Australia comes with extremely high manufacturing and regulatory costs. Over time, it has become harder and harder to make it sustainable long term.

If you ever chose Winki because you cared about what we cared about — simple ingredients, reef-conscious choices, plastic-free packaging, and honest marketing — please know this: you are the reason we lasted more than seven years in such a competitive space. You kept this little brand alive.

What happens next

- We’ll be selling through our limited remaining stock online until it’s gone.
- Orders will continue to ship as normal during the sell-through period.
- Some of our beautiful wholesale stockists will continue to carry remaining stock while they have it. I’ll share a where-to-buy link in a future email.

I’ll share more details in the coming days, including timelines and where you can still find Winki. For now, I just want to say thank you — truly. Thank you for supporting a small brand. Thank you for reading the “why” behind our choices. Thank you for being part of this.

With so much love,

Belinda
