20 Years. Gone in One Cut.

On Sunday, my guest Andrew did something incredible.

After 20 years of having a beard, he decided to shave it all off to raise awareness and support for men’s mental health.

For a lot of men, a beard is more than just facial hair—it’s part of their identity, their comfort zone, and how the world knows them. So this wasn’t just a shave; it was a statement.

A reminder that it’s okay to be vulnerable, to step outside your comfort zone, and to have conversations that matter.

Andrew, thank you for trusting me to be a part of this moment. Your courage and willingness to do something so symbolic for such an important cause won’t be forgotten.

Let’s continue checking in on our mates, asking the hard questions, and reminding the men around us that they don’t have to carry everything alone.

Andrew has also created a go fund me and has already raised over $2000 and counting. Every dollar counts with matters like mental health, so does every conversation. If you can’t spare a couple bucks spare a couple minutes. Check up on your mates, your brothers, your dads. Let them know that speaking isn’t a weakness, let them know they aren’t alone.

Finally back cutting in a secure location. Thank you for everyone’s patience and loyalty. Without all of you incredible people backing me I wouldn’t have been able to get this far. Big shoutout to Benny feniksbarberstudio for sharing such an incredible space for me to cut in!

It’s been a while since I’ve made a post, so for anyone new here, I’m Nic, the barber behind Cutthroat Rascal ✂️

I run a relaxed, home-based barbershop where it’s all about good cuts, good chats, and never feeling rushed.
Whether it’s a clean fade, beard tidy-up, or taking a bit of extra time with the kids, I keep things calm and comfortable for everyone in the chair.

You’ll most likely meet Dexter, the four-legged apprentice 🐾
He’s always up for a cuddle, a pat, or a quick play before your cut. However, if you’d prefer a dog-free appointment, no worries at all, just let me know.

This setup came from a big, unexpected change last year, and the support from the community has been unreal.
From regulars who’ve stuck by me, to new clients who’ve found their way here, I appreciate it all more than you know.
