** UV LASHES **
For those asking if I will be offering uv lashes the answer is no.
I have done a lot of research on this topic & I don’t feel like intentional UV exposure to such a sensitive area of the face is safe.
While all lash extensions come with the risk of eye irritation or reactions, UV lashes come with more risk of permanent damage.
UV light, similar to sun exposure, can damage delicate eye tissues. This can manifest photokeratitis (like sunburn to the corena) causing pain, redness, and temporary vision issues. Repeated or prolonged exposure can increase the risk of more serious problems like cataracts.
If the glue isn't applied or cured properly, it can create gaps where bacteria can thrive, potentially leading to eye infections.
The skin around the eyes is thin and delicate, and UV exposure can contribute to sunburn, premature aging, and even an increased risk of skin cancer.
While most salons use the corrective PPE and shield the eyes from the UV light there are some salons that dont!
Yes while this may be solving the issue some people have of reactions to regular lash glue as the UV glue is instantly cured, it’s the long term damage that scares me!
We are taught from a young age to protect our eyes and skin from UV, sun screen, sunglasses ect so why would repeated use of UV light for lash extensions be any good for our eyes? 👀
This may come as a controversial topic but thats just my thoughts & opinion.
The health & safety of my clients eyes and lashes will always be my number 1 priority.
