H2Cuts

After a busy year the DPI’s H2Cuts trailer is set up this week at the Australian National Field Days at Borenore for their final event for 2023. There is still time to get your free hydrogen powered haircut at Borenore, 15kms west of Orange NSW.

Wagga turned on a beautiful day for the launch of DPI Climate Research Energy team’s hybrid electric/renewable diesel truck - the P2X Express. Many thanks to Rowan at Wagga Trucks and our H2Cuts hairdressers, Ariane, Josh and Scarlett all from Plush Hairdressing, Wagga. ♻️

Exciting news! DPI’s Energy team is launching the ‘P2X Express’- a brand new renewable diesel/electric hybrid light truck which will be used to tow the H2Cuts trailer. Join us on Friday 16 June 11am-2pm at Wagga Trucks, 280 Hammond Ave where NSW DPI will be demonstrating alternative fuels sources to farmers and others within the transport industry - and of course take the opportunity for a free hydrogen powered haircut by Plush Hairdressing.

The wonderful Cath flew solo today and rounded off a very wet with an amazing 37 h2 cuts. Thanks to all our hairdressers over the last 3 days and everyone who came and showed an interest in our and reducing emissions and energy costs in the future

Day 2 of the Australian National Field Days was a lot drier and brought more visitors to the H2Cuts trailer including NSW Minister for Agriculture, Dugald Saunders and DPI DG Scott Hansen. Big thanks to Jenny and Emma our hairdressers who traveled from Dubbo to help out. See you today for the last chance for a H2 haircut this year!

The rain stayed away for the Murrumbateman Field Days at the weekend which made for happy visitors to the H2Cuts trailer. DPI’s Mike, JOC and Liz had many conversations with locals on renewables, future technology and energy savings while our skilled “shearers”, Fi and Riz from were kept busy with free hairstyles and cuts. The trailer’s last event for this year will be at the Australian National Field Days 20-22 October at Borenore NSW. See you there! ✂️✂️✂️🐑🐑🐑

Henty Field Days are over for another year - The H2Cuts trailer is packed up and we say goodbye to our hairdressers and some of the interesting characters who stopped by for a haircut or a chat. We hope to see you at our next events: Murrumbateman Field Days, 15-16 October and The Australian National Field Days, 20-22 October at Borenore just west of Orange NSW, which will be our final event for the year.

Many records were broken at the Henty Field Days last week including our incredibly hard working hairdressers, Ariane with 32 haircuts for a half day! …and Kylie who broke her own record with 47 haircuts in one day! Sheerene now holds the record for our youngest client ever, performing baby’s first haircut 😊 The H2Cuts “catching pen” was often full giving DPI project officers JOC and Mike a chance to talk to the record Henty crowd about the trailer’s hydrogen fuel cell technology and how to save on energy costs and emissions.
