Sharing the highs, lows, treatments, scans, victories, setbacks, and everything in between.

I can't believe I'm actually done.
I made it to the end! There were times I didn't think I would...but I'm glad I persevered
The 6 weeks of laying on this bed, daily, getting radiation is finally over!
Last treatment, last visit to the Cancer centre and last day of being in Wagga.
I'm so ready to get back to the quietness of my home and the solitude.
I'm so grateful to Lilier Lodge for all the support, accommodation and laughs, and have met some beautiful people along the way....but there's no place like home and Fin and I can't wait to get there π¦π
I'm surprised it didn't happen sooner but today my breaking point not only got reached but exploded and boiled over.
After sitting and waiting for the specialist appointment, for an hour and in pain, it wasn't until I spoke to his receptionist that I finally got called in, only to have the prick smile and say "oh I had forgotten about you!"
"Forgotten?!" I asked, to which he responded with a small chuckle
"Yes I'd forgotten about you"
The appointment is on your fu***ng screen, and you forgot?!
So he got told, in pure Chrissie style, that he could keep forgetting and off I went.
Between CanAssist Cootamundra forgetting and daydreaming, making it difficult to get medications for a month, and now my radiation specialist forgetting I was sitting in the waiting room, I lost my temper. I've done nothing but jump through all their hoops, and from day one it's kinda been a s**t show when it comes to the professionals.
So I will see out these last 3 treatments and after that I doubt I'll bother anymore, it's not worth the headf**ks.

Week 6!
The finish line is in sight and I can already hear home calling me.
Today marks the last chemo round, the last needle, the last day of sitting in this chair while chemo does it job.
After this, it'll be 4 more days of radiation then finally Coota bound
The staff here are beyond amazing and have definitely helped make treatment a helluva lot easier, but I'll be very happy to not have to see them on the daily π
Week 5... done and dusted. π
We've made it to the end of another week!π
The finish line is finally coming into view, and I won't lie... that's a pretty good feeling.
The biggest win this week?
My brain MRI came back CLEAR!
The headaches have been put down to the chemo dose, and were adjusted for final 2.
There are still a few hurdles to get over, but for the first time in a while, home doesn't feel so far away.
Just one more week...
One more round of chemo.
5 more radiation sessions.
Then Fin and I get to pack our bags and head home. π¦π‘
A huge thank you to everyone who's walked this journey with me so far. Every message, every comment, every laugh and every bit of encouragement has helped carry me through. To those who've travelled to be by my side are more than appreciated and thank you will never cover it!
As for Clarence...
Your eviction notice has been signed. It's time to get the f**k out π
One treatment closer.
One day closer.

π Wednesday Night Dinner at Lilier Lodge.
Tonight's weekly dinner came with a bit of Irish flair as everyone got into the spirit of our St Patrick's Day theme. πβοΈ
It was so lovely to see everyone joining in, having a laugh, and forgetting about appointments and treatments for a little while.
These nights are a reminder that even in the middle of a cancer journey, there's still room for friendship, community, and a few smiles.
A big thank you to everyone who helps make these evenings so special. Sometimes the best medicine isn't found in a treatment roomβit's found around a dinner table with good people.
Fin's verdict?
"I couldn't find a pot of gold... but I did find some pretty special people." π¦π
ππͺπΎWinner winner chicken dinner
βοΈ61.3kg!!! I finally reached the 60kg goal. It's taken nearly 15yrs to reach it
My chemo nurse said it was from the amount of fluid they pump through me, and I'll likely lose it again... but I don't care, the scales state it and that's all I care about
Doing the happy danceπΊ

Week 5... here we go again
Round 2 of chemo
I won't pretend I'm excited about it...I'm just not feeling it today
But I am trying to be positive about what it's doing.
Every treatment is another reminder that science is working hard behind the scenes, and every appointment is another step towards showing Clarence the door. I just wish he'd f**k off already.
With Fin by my side I'll tackle this week like the ones before it.
One treatment closer.
One day closer.
Let's do this. π¦π
Week 4... Done. π
Another week of daily radiation is in the books.
It hasn't been the easiest week. The headaches have decided to stick around, so my MDT has referred me for an MRI to make sure nothing else is going on. It'll be a big fingers crossed that'll come back clearπ€π
Despite the bumps along the way, there are still wins to celebrate.
β
The scales have finally hit 61 kg.
β
Blood work is looking good, with only a slight rise in magnesium.
β
And most importantly... we're still moving forward.
This weekend is exactly what the doctor orderedβtime with some dear friends, plenty of laughs, and a chance to recharge before Monday rolls around.
Then it'll be back to business... another round of daily chemo and radiation, and another week of reminding Clarence that its time to go.
Four weeks down. Two weeks to go.
One treatment closer. One day closer. ππ¦
Midweek Checkpoint π
Well we're halfway through another week, and Clarence is definitely fighting dirty.
The headaches have decided they're a permanent fixture, the side effects are starting to make themselves known, and my energy levels seem to have packed up and gone on holiday - they could've taken me with them!
My moods have been a bit all over the place, and if I'm honest, the cabin fever is starting to kick in too.
But the good news?
My appetite has decided to make an unexpected comeback, which we'll happily count as another win. For years I've tried to reach 60kgs and im just about there π½οΈπ
A huge shout out to the amazing team at Riverina Cancer Care Clinic. The care, kindness and support they show every single day goes far beyond treatment. They genuinely go above and beyond for their patients, and that makes a world of difference on the tough days.
So for now, the plan remains the same:
Keep showing up. Keep moving forward and keep reminding Clarence that his lease is almost up.
One treatment closer to the finish line
