Bubbles, hardness, cleansing, conditioning, and creaminess are factors considered by each maker when they’re formulating their soap recipe (as well as some other more technical considerations of course).

Some businesses goal is to create a natural bar, but to keep it on the ‘cheaper’ side of things by using simple oils like sunflower oil, others choose to add in some ‘luxury’ with ingredients like cocoa butter or avocado butter. The possibilities are endless, as each oil/butter brings a specific set of qualities to the finished product.

It’s actually a really fun process to test recipes (though very expensive lol), because you can visibly see how different blends of oils create completely different bars of soaps.

We have spent the last 6 years testing, adjusting & perfecting our soap recipes. Because before they make it to the shelf, we want to make sure we’re genuinely producing a high-quality product. For us, it’s not about using the cheapest oils to keep the cost low (though some would argue we should do that😅), it’s about providing a soap that cleanses without stripping, is bubbly, is hard enough to not turn into a pile of mush & smells good without being too overpowering.
