■ TNISO points out that military propagandists are using a 2023 Google Earth satellite image, mislabeling locations to mislead the public about the Kyauktaw market bombing
Ro Verses News | October 2
TNISO, an information-monitoring organization, has pointed out that military supporters and propagandists are using a Google Earth satellite image taken in early 2023 and deliberately placing incorrect location labels on it in an attempt to mislead the public about the airstrike on India Market in Kyauktaw, Rakhine State.
Following an airstrike near a market in Kyauktaw town on September 28, military supporters have reportedly been distributing information about the incident on social media in both Burmese and English, according to a statement released by TNISO on October 2.
TNISO says that some of these posts use a satellite image obtained from Google Earth in early 2023, with certain buildings and locations labeled as an AA boat dock, a fuel storage facility, barracks where AA personnel live, a ULA/AA office, a customs area, and a DELPS office.
However, after comparing the satellite image with drone footage released by the Arakan Army following the airstrike, TNISO says that the locations labeled by military supporters and propagandists do not correspond to the current conditions on the ground.
TNISO also says that labeling the area that was burned by the airstrike as a fuel storage facility creates and spreads an unsubstantiated claim that the Arakan Army had stored fuel inside the crowded civilian market.
TNISO further points out that military-supporting Telegram channels have shared images of Arakan Army personnel carrying out rescue operations after the airstrike and have presented the incident in a way that suggests, “The bombing was carried out because AA members were there.”
According to TNISO, mixing accurate information with false or misleading information in this way, in order to confuse the public's understanding of an incident, is known as “information laundering.”
TNISO also states that Kyauktaw Township was among the areas that the Arakan Army brought under its control during 2024.

US President Donald Trump announced Wednesday that the last American forces are leaving Iraq, declaring an end to more than two decades of US military involvement in the country and calling it a “victory.”
“This is a Great Day for America and, importantly, we leave with Iraq having a wonderful new Prime Minister, Ali al-Zaidi, somebody I supported from the beginning and fully endorsed,” Trump said.
Without the approval of the UN Security Council, US forces invaded Iraq in 2003 to topple Iraqi President Saddam Hussein, triggering years of upheaval and chaos. The US administration claimed that Baghdad possessed weapons of mass destruction, a claim that proved to be false.
The Americans initially left at the end of 2011 but returned less than three years later to assist Iraqi forces after Daesh fighters seized large parts of Iraq and committed atrocities against civilians.
More than 4,500 US troops died in Iraq, around twice as many as in the parallel war in Afghanistan. The Iraq Body Count project says more than 200,000 Iraqi civilians were killed.
In 2004, the US military was accused of torturing and abusing Iraqi prisoners at Abu Ghraib prison after photographs taken by US soldiers were leaked and published by multiple news outlets.
Iraqi Prime Minister Ali al-Zaidi said "a new phase has begun, defined by Iraq's sovereignty, the strength of its institutions (and) the readiness of its forces."

The issue of Myanmar refugees is not a new problem, but rather a legacy of decades that has put pressure on the country from the perspective of security, social, and management.
The MADANI government is taking steps to address this issue more systematically, including through enforcement, coordination between agencies, and cooperation with the host country.
As a result of negotiations with Myanmar, 5,000 refugees have been agreed upon to be sent back voluntarily and gradually. Today, 1,476 refugees have started the first phase after going through the agreed process between the two countries.
Insha-Allah, I will ensure that this issue is handled thoroughly, with the safety and interests of the Malaysian people given priority, and its implementation based on law and humanitarian values.

Subsequently, a third clash occurred on September 21 in the Taung Bazar area of Buthidaung Township. On September 24 at around 12:30 PM, ARSA stated that it attacked AA camps near Milepost 56, located between the Y Hlan Zone and Mee Zin Pha Rar in northern Maungdaw.
