we care about you

20/08/2026

For the last two days, I have been seeing these posts where a female bus driver is being praised as an “independent” and “powerful” woman, while a male bus driver is being called a “loser” simply because he drives a bus.

I don’t think we need to look at it that way.

I am not saying that women should not be praised. In fact, especially in a country like Bangladesh, when a woman chooses to drive a bus to earn money, I can imagine that there may be much more behind that decision than what we see in the picture.

She may have a family to support. She may have children. She may have financial responsibilities. And after finishing her shift, she may still have household responsibilities waiting for her—cooking, cleaning, taking care of her children or other family members, and managing the home. Even if she lives alone, there are still responsibilities that don’t disappear just because her working day is over.

So yes, I absolutely respect that woman. She deserves appreciation for her hard work, courage and responsibility.

But at the same time, why should a male bus driver be called a “loser”?

He may also be working long hours to support his family. His job may be the way he provides food, education and security for the people he loves. Driving a bus is honest work, and there is nothing shameful about it.

And imagine the opposite situation.

Imagine seeing a picture of a man whose wife has just given birth, and he is the one waking up throughout the night, feeding the baby, changing diapers, carrying the baby, comforting the baby when they cry, and taking care of everything while his wife rests and recovers.

I believe people would praise that man enormously. They would probably call him caring, responsible, supportive and even an amazing father.

And he deserves that appreciation.

But why should we treat it as extraordinary simply because he is a man, while the same work is often considered normal when a mother does it every day?

This is why I think we need to look beyond gender.

Men and women are not exactly the same. We have biological differences, different physical strengths, different hormonal systems and, in many situations, different responsibilities. Equality does not necessarily mean that men and women must be identical or capable of doing every single thing in exactly the same way.

But being different does not mean that one is more valuable than the other.

A woman who works outside the home deserves respect.
A man who works to provide for his family deserves respect.
A mother raising children deserves respect.
A father who actively raises and cares for his children deserves respect.

So instead of calling one person “powerful” and another person a “loser” based only on their gender, perhaps we should simply appreciate the effort behind the work.

Especially when a woman in Bangladesh is working outside the home while also carrying responsibilities at home, yes—I think she deserves to be appreciated.

And if a man is taking care of his newborn baby, waking up at night, feeding, changing diapers and doing everything a mother might normally be expected to do, he deserves the same appreciation.

Let’s not make women prove their worth by comparing them with men.
Let’s just respect hard work, responsibility and sacrifice—whoever is doing it.

Let’s empower everyone.

Sometimes, a woman doesn’t need diamonds or expensive things—just a few colourful bangles on her wrists and a little happiness in her heart. ❤️✨

Life is a journey—some people come to love us, some to teach us, and some simply pass through. We may not understand every chapter, but time has a way of putting everything in its place. Life is short, so keep your heart kind, love genuinely, and leave behind nothing but good energy.

You were the biggest mistake of my life, but also my greatest lesson. I’ll always be grateful for what you taught me. I can’t forget what you did to me, but may God forgive us both, for His mercy is greater than ours.🫰🏻🙂‍↔️🫰🏻

People stayed close enough to not lose you,
but distant enough to never choose you.
So you waited in the space between mixed signals and empty promises,
mistaking potential for reality.
Not every person who holds your hand is planning to stay. Sometimes they're only making sure you don't let go first. ✨

This is a place where the quiet heals
Footsteps on the wooden trail
Peace arrives with every inhale
Horses moving calm and free
Their gentle rhythm healing me
Let the sunlight wrap around you
Let the silence fall and ground you
Every worry drifts away
Nature whispers, "You're okay"
