Story of Us

I got married before settling my career. I could have taken more time, could have built my career first. But I wanted someone to come into my life seeing it messy as it is—to walk with me through scarcity and hard days. The one who learns to live with those realities and still chooses to stay, only she truly deserves to be called a life partner.
Those who live in a well-organized household, surrounded by abundance, often carry greed within them. They struggle to accept that hardship and difficult times are also part of family life.
If someone is accustomed from the very beginning to plenty of money and jewelry, they will eventually react negatively when those things are no longer available—because that is what they have grown used to. But the person who has lived through days of scarcity learns to hold on to love itself. What they gained or didn’t gain becomes irrelevant.

ক্যারিয়ার না গুছিয়ে বিয়ে করেছি। চাইলে সময় নিতে পারতাম, ক্যারিয়ার গুছিয়ে নিতে পারতাম। তবে আমি চেয়েছি আমার এলোমেলো জীবন দেখেই কেউ আসুক। অভাব আর খারাপ দিনের সাথেই মিশুক। এগুলোতে অভ্যস্থ হয়ে যে থেকে যাবে, সে প্রকৃত অর্থে অর্ধাঙ্গিনী।

কিন্তু একটা গুছানো সংসারে সবকিছু ভরপুর পেয়ে যারা থাকে, তাদের অধিকাংশের ভিতরে লোভ বিরাজ করে। অভাব অনাটন, দুঃসময়ও যে সংসারের অংশ এটা তারা সহজে বুঝতে চায় না।

শুরু থেকেই যাকে ভরপুর টাকাপয়সা, গহনার লোভে ফেলে দিবেন, একসময় সে এসব না পেলে বিরূপ প্রতিক্রিয়া দেখাবে। কারণ, সে এসবেই অভ্যস্ত। আর যে মানুষটা অভাবের দিন দেখে দেখে দিন কাটাচ্ছে, সে মূলত ভালোবাসাটাকেই আঁকড়ে ধরে আছে। কী পেলো, না পেলো, এটা ফোর সাবজেক্ট।
