Happy World Teachers’ Day! 🌟📚

Today, I’m thrilled to share the story of how I began my journey working at a high school in the USA!🇺🇸

This photo was taken when I visited Fairfax County Public Schools (FCPS) for my background check—one of the final steps before I could officially start my role at an American high school. Stepping into the school for the first time felt like a dream come true!

It all started during my college’s Career Fair, where I discovered the AVID Classroom. As someone who’s been passionate about teaching, I was instantly captivated by the opportunity to be part of the American education system. What better way to gain firsthand experience than working directly with students and teachers in an actual classroom setting?

After endless rounds of paperwork, interviews, training, and tons of emails, I finally passed my background check! The excitement was through the roof!

I started my role in the winter of 2024 at Oakton High School. I must admit, it was a bit intimidating at first, as my students (in grades 9 -11) were just a couple of years younger than me (and some even taller!). But they turned out to be an incredibly bright and thoughtful group, making every moment worthwhile.

Working there allowed me to learn from experienced teachers, guide students, and even lead special sessions on topics like career planning, personal finance, and skill development. It was a challenge, being a college student myself, but one that pushed me to grow!

Alhamdulillah, I feel blessed to have had such an enriching experience! 🙏

I’m even more motivated to pursue my vision of analyzing education systems worldwide and bringing the best practices back to Bangladesh. 🌍📖

As you mature, you begin to value
Peace over Drama, and Distance over Disrespect.

I can't put into words how helpless I feel right now.🥺

It’s so hard being far from the country where you belong, where your family, friends, and all your childhood memories are. But I’m incredibly proud of this Gen Z generation, teaching the world how to lead with truth and respect. We feel “FREE.”

I wish I could be there, wearing my BNCC Cadet uniform, walking down with pride, ensuring people are safe on the roads. I still remember the sunburns we used to get, how our skin would turn many shades darker. But who cared? People thought we were crazy, but we said, "We can revolutionize." And today, it’s proven.

Never underestimate the power of knowledge and unity.

Leap Day 2024!

Today, I’m filled with immense pride to share that “My Story” was featured by NOVA Community College on its Official Website, Facebook, LinkedIn, and Twitter.

Seeing myself recognized as a contributor is both humbling and emotional. However, amidst the joy, there’s a twinge of sadness knowing that my parents aren’t here to witness whatever I working on here. Nevertheless, I’m determined to make this day special and honor their presence by continuing to strive for success and make them proud.

Seeing Dr. Jill Biden, the First Lady of the United States of America was a dream to me!

But introducing myself as a Bangladeshi, shaking hands, having breakfast, and sharing about the Community College Initiative Program is a dream come true! 🥺🥺

Always being around her and discussing similar initiatives is next-level happiness. Although Photos are not allowed, I’m going to cherish the day with the meaningful conversations we had in my whole life. Guess what? She pronounced my name “JUDI”, and I love it! 😊

A remarkable day unfolded when I first met my incredible Social Host, Keila. (Director of Student & Program Support, NOVA Community College for the last 20 years)

The sun beamed down, making it impossible for us to even look at the camera due to the intense glare, accompanied by gusts of wind. But, the memories we created together will always hold a special place in my heart.

Although there are noticeable differences and a significant age gap between us, conversing with Keila felt like talking to a wiser, future version of myself. I genuinely feel grateful to have someone like her in my life. She brings comfort and warmth to my soul. ❤️

Despite the challenging weather conditions, she embarked on a long journey to be with me, disregarding her busy schedule. This act of kindness and dedication is something I will forever cherish. 🥹
