What will you plant before you die? 🌱

Will the fruits of your labor still flourish when you’re no longer here?

This is my Mom’s cherry tree. She planted it, nurtured it, watched it grow and today, it still bears fruit.

But I’m not really talking about the tree.

I’m talking about the things we pour ourselves into while we’re here. The love we give. The children we raise. The lessons we teach. The people we impact. The dreams we build. The seeds we plant without knowing who will one day benefit from them.

Because life isn’t only about what we accumulate while we’re alive.

It’s about what continues to grow because we were here.

My Mom may no longer be here to pick these cherries, but something she planted is still producing.

What will you plant before you die? 🌱🤍🕊️

I often share based on my own experiences, and this is one of them. As a woman, I believe it’s essential to know how to cook not simply to please a partner or spouse, but because you should always be able to take care of yourself. In many Bahamian households, the mother is often the primary cook, and when she’s no longer here, you feel the weight of her absence in so many ways, so it’s vital to be able to. 🙏🏽

I’m grateful that I can feed myself and my family without having to depend on anyone in my mother’s absence. She may no longer be here, but what she instilled in me continues. That’s legacy, when you carry the torch. ❤️

Thank you to everyone who took the time to wish me a happy birthday. 🖤 Your messages, kind words, and love truly meant so much to me.

So many of you shared how my mom’s story has inspired you, touched your heart, or encouraged you in your own life. Knowing that our story continues to impact people in such a beautiful way means more to me than I could ever put into words. 🥹❤️

I’m incredibly grateful for every message, every prayer, and every kind word. Thank you for celebrating me while also honoring the beautiful memory of my mom. 🖤🙏🏽

With love,
Andrea 🤍 💐✨

Chapter 34 🎂 by God’s grace 🖤

Last year, I spent most of my birthday sitting beside my mom in the hospital as she went for her CT scan. Deep down, I had a feeling it might be our last birthday together, so I dedicated that day to her. Looking back now, I’m grateful I did.

This past year has changed me in ways I never could have prepared for. I’ve experienced one of life’s deepest heartbreaks, burying my mother. I’ve learned that grief doesn’t end after the funeral; it quietly becomes something you carry while life keeps moving.

Through the tears, I’ve had to keep showing up. I’ve taken on new responsibilities, continued building my business, cared for my family, and, most importantly, continued being the mother my daughter deserves. Some days have been heavier than others, but giving up was never an option.

Strength isn’t about never breaking. It’s about finding the courage to keep going after life has broken your heart. Resilience is choosing to rise, even when every part of you wants to stay down.

As I step into Chapter 34, I carry my mom’s love with me. I carry every lesson, every sacrifice, every prayer, and every memory. She may not be here to celebrate with me, but she will forever be a part of every milestone I reach.

Here’s to healing, growth, purpose, peace, and embracing every blessing still ahead. I’m proud of the woman I’ve become not because life has been easy, but because I’ve continued to stand, even when life gave me every reason to fall.

Happy 34th Birthday to you, Queen. 🎂❤️
