In Botswana, the Global Albinism Alliance held a membership meeting 👥, bringing together community leaders and advocates to reflect on both the present and the future.

Together💫, we discussed what the GAA means for the albinism community in Botswana, the progress made with the support of government and partners, the challenges that remain, and possible solutions for moving forward.

💙 At the GAA, we work to help albinism organisations become stronger and more impactful.

Day 1 of the High level convening on Sustaining Advocacy for the Global Albinism movement with special attention on Africa.

Someone dreamed something bigger for the Albinism community years ago and then the UN movement was born, and we are here to say with or without anything one may think of, the mandate must continue, Albinism community leaders from the global co ntinets are here to make sure of that! Our President Ms Philadelphia Motladiile-Kenneth joins the team.

Global Albinism Alliance is in Botswana (26th - 27th April 2026).

Yesterday the pageant President Ms. Philadelphia Motladiile-Kenneth and Letlhakeng Albinism community leader Mr Ketlogetswe et with the Global Albinism Alliance Executive Director to discuss the existence of GAA and what it means to Botswana Albinism community and also the status of the Albinism community in Botswana, success stories through the government and or other stakeholders, challenges and what would be the remedies to these challenges!

The discussions were fruitful and ended with the GAA Ex*****on director pinning the attendees with the GAA loyalty badges.

This meeting has come to Botswana at the right time where the Albinism community seem to be loosing touch of its mandate. GAA brought in a new perspective even in this global economic challenges.

The chapter closes but the legacy lives on. Our mother and patron has been laid to rest in Phomolong cemetery this morning.

Today was a day to celebrate mogaka mmaarona mme mma Gladys Kokorwe in Tapologo farm in Kumakwane.

Tomorrow at 05:00 to 09:00 is funeral program.

Note: Free transport arranged by the family from Tapologo farm to Phomolong cemetry will be available. Your cars will remain at the farm to avoid traffic.
