Mehndi/henna is prepared from henna leaves. Leaves are dried and crushed to form fine powder. This powder is then mixed with water to make a paste. Oils or other organic products may be added. This paste is then applied on hands and feet using a cone. Once dried and removed, henna gives a natural stain. The stain could be light or dark, depending on various factors.
The process of getting henna designs made is very soothing and relaxing. In older times henna paste was applied on hands and feet to relax from the extreme heat.
With times, it has become an art and unbreakable part of festivities 💐
