Confusing topic - inflammation...
The internet is full of content saying that inflammation is the root cause of women's health issues like skin problems (eg. acne), perimenopause symptoms, menopause symptoms, sleep challenges, weight gain...
This is generally true but I think many people fail to realize is that inflammation has a root cause too.
Inflammation occurs when our bodies are stuck in survival mode/injury mode/constant need for repair mode. Call it whatever you want.
The root cause of inflammation is food, drink and lifestyle. Bottom line. There is no other way to spin it.
If your skin is inflamed (eg. acne) - your diet and lifestyle is at the root cause.
If your hormones are struggling (eg. perimenopause symptoms, painful periods) - your diet and lifestyle is at the root cause.
And I know what you're thinking right now. "I am eating healthy! I am working out! But I'm not getting better!" I know and I hear you loud and clear. You're not doing anything wrong.
99.9999% of the time we can't help ourselves because we are so enveloped in conflicting information, frustration towards ourselves and option overload for food and supplements that it becomes impossible to see the tiny things right in front of our faces.
It's the tiny, consistent things that make a huge difference.
Let's chat about it.

15% of women have experienced health challenges related to their period.
40% of those women have severe pain associated with their period.
Only 20% of women had support from their employer after taking time off due to period challenges .
13% of women feel uncomfortable talking to their boss about period challenges (no kidding! Because many bosses are men who just donât understand or care).
Those who have disclosed period challenges as a reason for sick days believe their career will be damaged as a result.
This is bull$ #!T and weâre going to change that.
Report: Nearly Half of Women Face Silent Struggles at Work Due to Health Challenges â Women of Influence Despite growing awareness, many women face significant challenges related to menstruation, menopause, and fertility that they often feel unable to disclose at work, fearing career repercussions. Itâs time to address these silent struggles and create a more supportive workplace environment.

A good read about turmeric. I recommend eating turmeric rather than supplementing but that's just me! Adding turmeric to a lemon and ginger shot first thing in the morning is an epic way to start the day :)
What Happens to Inflammation When You Take Turmeric Regularly Experts explain why taking turmeric daily may help lower chronic inflammation and share tips for choosing a high-quality turmeric supplement.
Me about to ruin the âitâs just your hormonesâ narrative. đđż
Hormones get blamed for everything -
Acne. PMS. Perimenopause symptoms. Poor sleep.
But what if hormones arenât the problemâwhat if theyâre the clue?
đ Tell me: whatâs a symptom youâve been told to blame on hormones?
Did you know one simple imbalance can fuel inflammation throughout the body? đ
When I start working with a client, one of the very first things we focus on is their omega balance.
Why?
Because before we dive into hormones, digestion, blood sugar control or skin health, we need to create an environment where the body can actually respond to the work weâre doing.
Omega-3s help support a healthy inflammatory response at the cellular level. When omega balance is off, the body can feel like itâs constantly operating under stress, making it harder to achieve lasting improvements in areas like acne, PMS, energy, mood, and hormone balance.
Think of it as preparing the soil before planting a garden đą
Every client Iâve worked with in my career has been outside of healthy omega balance.
By improving omega balance first, weâre helping to create a stronger foundation so that hormone-supportive protocols can work more effectively and the body has an easier time finding its way back to balance.
Itâs not the entire solutionâbut itâs often the perfect place to start.
Small changes at the cellular level can create big changes throughout the body.

Ass-backward things I do as a functional nutrition coach đ
â I donât hand you a meal plan on day one.â¨â I donât start with a stack of expensive functional tests.â¨â I donât load you up with a cupboard full of supplements.
Sounds backward in todayâs health world, doesnât it?
Hereâs why:
I donât start with meal plans because meal plans donât create lasting changeâunderstanding does. Before I tell someone what to eat, I want them to understand why theyâre eating that way. We also need to build the foundational habits that make healthy choices sustainable. Without that foundation, even the best meal plan becomes another document collecting dust in your inbox.
I donât start with a cluster of functional tests because more data isnât always better data. Your symptoms, health history, lifestyle, and current habits often tell us a lot. Testing can be incredibly helpful, but only when weâre using it to answer specific questionsânot just gathering information for the sake of it.
I donât load clients up on supplements because supplements should support a healthy body, not compensate for an unhealthy foundation. If blood sugar is unstable, stress is running the show, digestion isnât working properly, or nutrient needs arenât being met through food, a handful of supplements wonât create long-term results.
Instead, we focus on the fundamentals that actually help the body heal:
âď¸ Blood sugar balanceâ¨âď¸ Gut healthâ¨âď¸ Hormone balanceâ¨âď¸ Detoxification supportâ¨âď¸ Reducing inflammation through omega ratio balance
Itâs not the flashy approach.
But itâs the one that creates lasting results.
Because the goal isnât to make you dependent on meal plans, tests, or supplements forever.
The goal is to help you understand your body well enough that you can support it with confidence for years to come.
What a beautiful morning!
If youâve been following me for a while you know that I am a spiritual girlie. I swear by talking to my spirit guides, reading cards and I also like crystals.
This amethyst is my favourite right now. Iâve had my most spiritual moments with it and today it just delivered another.
As I was getting myself ready this morning, I just felt the need to grab it and put it on (this happens frequently and it always results in something helpful).
Today was no different. I popped it on, left the house. And sure enough someone noticed it and commented. This was a person Iâve been in contact with for many months now but never had the connection until today.
Turns out she is a reiki master (which I never knew before and I have been eager to find a reiki practitioner that I know I can trust). On top of that, she has a friend who is being challenged by menopause symptoms and is open to help. So I left her my name.
How special !
Win, win, win for all those involved. All thanks to my amethyst.
Let me know some of your experiences! It can be with crystals, spirits, coincidences or synchronicities ⌠Comment below đ
I know that many of you have been conscious about your health for some time. You follow the experts, listen to the podcasts, buy the supplements, do all the things right?
The thing is⌠because every womenâs body is so incredibly unique, there is not ever a one size fits solution to solving hormone problems.
Except for these 5 things. I am here to tell you that every single person on the face of this earth, hormone issues or not, will benefit from these 5 things.
I know they seem totally unrelated to hormone health but they are scientifically proven to assist in the overall function of our bodies.
If you want more info, letâs chat about it. Send me a DM ! Let me know what your biggest challenge is right now. Maybe I can help.
PS I have a new freebie coming out! Perfect for busy women who want good, balanced, easy meals. Send me a DM to let me know youâre interested and Iâll send over the link to download once itâs completed đ
Look ladies, as we get older our bodies start to change. We basically go through puberty again lol (in my opinion). Itâs not at all strange that your skin is doing weird stuff (like acne), your period is more or less symptomatic , your sleep declines, your energy declines. Your body is actually physically changing and our outside world hasnât quite caught up.
After about 35, hormone cycles start to change because weâre entering a time where those cycles are no longer really needed (for most of us! If youâre like me - 35 and donât have kids yet, listen up cuz this is going to apply to you too).
With changing hormone cycles comes changing needs for protein, carb and fats. Comes different needs for sleep. Comes different needs for exercise.
Everything is connected. And sometimes we experience so many little changes at once that itâs so hard to determine what we should do to support these changes so that daily life isnât so symptomatic.
Youâre not broken. Your body isnât shutting down. Your body just has different needs.
Follow along for more help!
Iâm Rebecca and I help women support their hormones at different life phases - especially when those hormone changes start showing up on the skin, lack of sleep and energy.
