Nasolabial folds are never just about the fold.

Before placing dermal filler in this area, it’s essential to assess the entire face—including midface support and the pyriform fossa. Treating the fold alone can lead to heaviness, distortion, or unnatural results.

In this particular case, we noted that this patient wouldn’t benefit from treating her midface and so our treatment plan focussed on the pyriform fossa as well as small amounts of filler to the actual nasolabial folds.

This is also a high-risk anatomical area, which is why careful assessment, advanced anatomical knowledge, and very small, precisely placed amounts of filler are key.

When done thoughtfully, we can soften lines while maintaining natural movement and facial harmony—never overfilled, never obvious. As showcased by this result, we have a youthful and more rejuvenated appearance in the lower face - which my patient was very satisfied with.
