Btw - wool and fleece are both amazing temperature regulators. They keep you warm, they manage moisture so well and they also made sure you don't overheat because again - super regulating.

My favourite is unscented, but the traditional tallow soap is currently also available (in limited quantities) in:

- Lavender

- Tea Tree

- Geranium & Eucalyptus (my favourite scented one and it's running low - so hurry)

- Cedarwood, orange & lemon grass (the favourite at the market)

And a special Albertan one - BISON (unscented though)

These soaps are incredibly pure - tallow, lye & water (and some pure essential oils in the scented one, but this soap cures for 4 to 6 weeks which means the EO are not as strong and therefore better).

These have loops on both sides, are handmade and so gentle for mom and baby skin.

Note - I decided to only include these in the care package and they are no longer available as a separate purchase. The reason is that they are too time consuming to make to be cost effective to sell on their own. But it feels really special to make a care package and therefore I am willing to put that extra time in to make these special boxes that I know are wonderful for moms.

I've been planning and dreaming of this for several months, but waited to get an overlocker.

Once I got my overlocker I needed to practice and then practice some more. Then watch a few tutorial videos and practice some more...

But yay! This item will be ready to go live soon!

I thought printing SIMPLY labels would be a quick & easy process....

Yeah no.

So many tutorials. Blogs. "Why the heck is this not working?" searches.

Lots of different printing settings. Paper settings. Quality settings. Types of exports. Different programs.

Countless labels designed to get ones that print clearly.

For me to stick it on skew 🙃🙃

Anyways! We got there in the end 😁 even if it took a couple of extra hours.

It was a new learning experience 👍 and a reminder to just assume there will be so many bumps in the road, things to figure out and learn, and things that just don't go exactly how I thought they would.

There is a little more to it...

The big reason for SIMPLY is simple - I wanted natural, healthy, and pure products for my family that I was having a hard time sourcing affordably and regularly. So I made them and they're amazing.

But there is more to it - for the last 2 years and 8 months - motherhood and the nurturing role for my family has challenged and expanded me in ways I couldn't have imaged. That while adjusting to living in a new country.

But recently... with Ian's health back (we are so grateful) and having settled in Canada, and Elba being older I found myself seeking out new challenges. New ways to use my creativity, my brain, my hands, and other skills.

And while I love my profession and my passion for it isn't lost (I am an employment relations specialist) - every hour I spend doing it is time away from my family. *I still work on it when Elba is sleeping.

SIMPLY is not just something I can do around my family - it is something I do WITH my family.

It is something Elba can be involved with and see us do. She can learn about "work" rather than have it be something her parents do behind closed doors or away from home.

SIMPLY is a new way for me to challenge myself, learn new things & skills - which excites me. BUT it allows me to do this WITH my family - our nonnegotiable - to be with our littles when they are little. And that is why SIMPLY came to be.

For my family and together with my family. To bring SIMPLY pure and natural products to others homes.
