Before getting a lip blush tattoo, it's important to properly prepare your lips to ensure the best possible outcome and healing process. Here are a few steps to follow:

1. Hydrate: Drink plenty of water in the days leading up to your appointment to keep your body hydrated, including your lips.

2. Exfoliation: Gently exfoliate your lips to remove any dry or flaky skin. You can use a lip scrub or make your own by mixing sugar with olive oil or honey. After scrubbing, rinse off the exfoliant and pat your lips dry.

3. Moisturize: Apply a lip balm or hydrating lip mask to moisturize your lips. Make sure the product you choose doesn't contain any active ingredients like retinol or exfoliating acids, as they may interfere with the healing process.

4. Avoid irritants: Avoid using any lip products that could irritate or sensitize your lips, such as lip plumpers or long-lasting lip stains, at least a week before your appointment.

5. Avoid excessive sun exposure: Protect your lips from excessive sun exposure and use a lip balm with SPF. Sunburned or damaged lips may not be suitable for the tattoo process.

Find yourself a lash artist that is OBSESSED with achieving the best lash retention. I invested in some European products that weren't cheap that help with lash retention and its been paying off huge this summer. Retention in the summer is usually difficult with allergies, gyms/hot yoga re-opening, sweating in these heat waves, etc. But it's also all about mastering and controlling your work environment. Lash adhesive can be a finicky beast. I'm also glad I invested in A/C to deal with all these heat waves we have been dealt with. The A/C isn't for the family/home, it was for my lash glue 😂

Retention at 3 weeks here, regular volume, not even mega here. After stampede season, we went shorter, so retention will now be even better. I'll always troubleshoot with my clients to maximize their retention (e.g. make you send me all your skincare/cleanser ingredients list to point out what your need to avoid, point out what I see in your lashes, watch you wash your lashes or ask you how you wash them, and give feedback). Here, if you look closely, she has highlighter fallout in the lashes she wasn't aware of. Can't wait til her next fill to see the retention then.
