More products.
More steps.
More things to remember.

Chinook was created to simplify things.

A cleanser.
A serum cream.

That's it.

Because healthy skin shouldn't feel like another item on your to-do list.

Summer is busy.

Early mornings.
Late nights.
Time outside.
Road trips.
BBQs.
Stampede.

The last thing I want is a 10-step skincare routine.

Two products.
About 60 seconds.

Then back to living life.

Meta created this AI version of Chinook for one of my ads.

Honestly, it’s pretty beautiful.

The light.
The bathroom.
The dreamy steam floating through the air.

But it also made me smile.

Because most Chinook photos aren’t created in a perfect AI-generated bathroom. They’re taken outdoors, on camping trips, during forest walks, or wherever inspiration strikes.

Over the last few years, I’ve realized how much I love photography. I always have my phone with me, and sometimes I’ll toss a few Chinook bottles into my bag just in case I find a beautiful spot or catch the light at just the right moment.

I’ve been known to kneel on the ground, climb over rocks, or balance bottles on tree stumps while curious strangers ask, “What exactly are you doing?”

Building Chinook has allowed me to combine so many things I love: skincare, creativity, photography, and time spent outdoors.

So now I’m curious…

Which feels more like Chinook to you?

The polished AI version or the real-life photos created wherever inspiration strikes? 💚

This photo makes me smile.

A few weeks ago while we were camping, my friend Leslie snapped this picture of me taking product photos.

What surprised me most wasn’t the photo itself. It was realizing how much I’ve fallen in love with photography over the last few years.

Building Chinook has given me an excuse to combine so many things I love: skincare, creativity, being outdoors, and spending time in nature. While everyone else was relaxing around the campsite, I was chasing the evening light and balancing bottles on tree stumps trying to get “just one more photo.”

Somewhere along the way, photography became one of my favorite parts of the creative process.

Every photo, every email, every ad, and every product that leaves our studio carries a little piece of me with it.

I still have so much to learn, but I love that building a small business has allowed me to discover passions I never expected.

And apparently one of them is photographing skincare in the middle of a campground. 💚

More products don’t always mean better skin.

These two bottles have followed me from home to hotel rooms to our camping trailer.

Simple routines are easier to stay consistent with.

And consistency is often where the magic happens. 💚

Sometimes the problem isn’t your skin.

Sometimes it’s the routine.

A new serum gets added.
Then another product for dryness.
Then something else for texture, tone, or glow.

Before long, your routine feels overwhelming, inconsistent, and harder to keep up with.

And often, your skin becomes harder to understand too.

I wrote a new blog post about:
• signs your routine may be too complicated
• why more products can sometimes make skin feel worse
• how minimalist skincare supports the skin barrier
• why consistency matters more than constant change

Because sometimes your skin needs simpler support; not more steps 💚

By the end of the day, this was all of us. 😴

The dogs were ready for bed long before we were.

It got me thinking about something I noticed years ago.

When my skincare routine felt complicated, it was much easier to skip when I was tired.

And let’s be honest, those are usually the nights your skin needs a little extra care the most.

That’s one of the reasons I created Chinook.

Two steps.
About a minute.
Morning and night.

Because consistency doesn’t come from having the perfect routine.

It comes from having a routine that fits into real life.

Camping trips.
Late nights.
Busy days.
And evenings when all you want to do is crawl into bed.

And honestly? Washing my face has become one of my favourite parts of the day. 💚

Packing for a camping trip:

✔️ Chinook
✔️ Dogs
✔️ Snacks

Everything else was negotiable. 😆

What’s one thing you never leave home without?

“Organic” doesn’t always mean what you think.

Some products labeled natural contain very little organic content.
Others use high-quality ingredients without certification.

So what actually matters?

How ingredients are sourced.
How they’re processed.
And how your skin responds over time.

Here’s what to look for in organic skincare in Canada.

Good skincare isn’t always about doing more.

It’s about doing the right things consistently.

And giving your skin time to respond.

Whether I’m at home or camping for the weekend, these are still the same two products I reach for every morning and night.

Consistency matters more than complexity. 💚
