The answer is often yes—but sun exposure matters.

Areas that are typically protected by clothing, such as the underarms or bikini area, may still be suitable for treatment throughout the summer, provided the skin has not been recently tanned or exposed to unprotected sun.

Recent tanning, tanning beds, self-tanner, or sun exposure to the treatment area can all affect whether it is safe to proceed. This is why it is so important to be honest about your summer plans and any recent exposure before your appointment.

Laser targets pigment. If the skin has extra pigment from recent sun exposure or a tan, treatment can become unsafe and increase the risk of burns or pigment changes.

This is exactly why I am always reminding clients to be smart about sun exposure before their appointments. 🤍
