A very special Mother's Day commission for , I was honored to be your if choice for your beautiful family!

Back in the day, before Oak Seed, I used to work at a Colour Me Mine in Kelowna. In what little free time I had during university, I would paint heraldry for the local medieval group on steins that could be used around campfires on warm summer nights. Many of my dear friends carry cups and goblets with my maker's mark. I miss the smell of those paints 💘

Never a failure; always a lesson.

Just like momma(s) taught me.

This New Year, I decided not to make a resolution, but rather to remind myself of the things I've already accomplished. In three years, I've gone from never having touched clay in my life, to tackling two different porcelains and a new technique.

I have two very special moms to thank for this perseverance: Gabrielle Bannard and Elaine Lovell. These strong, determined, knowledgeable, and caring women have shaped who I am, and have taught me valuable lessons like the one I (re)learned at the wheel this evening. Behind the one successful cup I made tonight lie the remains of nine others... but man, that one cup is so worth it!
