Come rinse the first day of school off at the pool! We are open until 7:30. $2/person.

Our annual maintenance is coming to an end. We are on schedule to re-open tomorrow as planned, with a 'Toonie Swim' (only $2/person) from 11:15-2:45 & 4:15-7:30!

After a week of drills, timed swims, first aid scenarios and tonnes of knowledge, Gillam has some new fully trained lifeguards! Congratulations to Vada, Chloe and Kolton!

Let’s swim! It was fantastic to be part of this special grand opening ceremony welcoming the Gillam community back into the newly renovated Nelson River Aquatic Centre. This important project, led by Manitoba Hydro and the Town of Gillam, supported reopening this community destination by addressing strategic upgrades to enhance user experiences, building performance and operational efficiency.

“It marks the culmination of months of hard work, strategic planning, and cross-functional collaboration. With the pool being closed since 2018, this milestone reaffirms our commitment to continuous improvement and sets the stage for future growth.” – Manitoba Hydro

Key updates included refreshing the pool environment with a new slide, pool liner, lighting, markings and select tilework, paired with building envelope upgrades for climate-control and user comfort year-round and updated maintenance areas and building systems.
